The broadcast sponsors for giving me an unexpected belly laugh.

Obviously the nickname 'tardinals is a portmanteau. Two words. Cardinals + Retards ('tards). It's in reference to being retarded or having retardation.

Then, out of absolutely nowhere, a commercial break hits and I find myself watching an advertisement featuring players from the Cardinals football team working with and bringing joy to the mentally handicapped. A noble, worthy and respectful endeavor.

...and then my inner 12 year old surfaces. I seriously busted out in a belly laugh like I haven't had in a decade as I realize what I'm seeing on my screen is 'tards helping 'tards!

By golly Captain you just hit on the new tagline for that commercial. Though I think it'd be better as "Cards helping 'Tards."

And if the only players allowed to help were players with large cojones, the tag line would be "Cards with nards helping 'Tards."
