With Alexander not traveling to Green Bay for the game because the Eagles are still trying to get his knee injury/pain management under control, I think it would be a good time to reconsider his value now and his time in Green Bay.

    1. The Eagles are signing CBs left and right after poor play and injuries have sapped their defense of pass defenders. Alexander wasn't signed by a top defense (Philly has fallen to below middle of the pack in pass D this year) but by a somewhat desperate one. This is a gamble by a team with some worries.

    2. Its clear the injury isn't just in his head. Two medical staffs besides the Packers have acknowledged it now but clearly thought it could be managed. But his time in Green Bay hints that he might not be able to play with the knee as it currently is. Whether he's just lost confidence or is worried about damaging his knee more, he doesn't trust it on the field.

The Packers clearly thought that was not likely to change. The Ravens seemed to come to a similar conclusion after signing him to a modest deal. Will be interesting if he can get back on the field for another team that needs him. There is a possibility he had a procedure (this is just me speculating, I've neither seen nor heard of anything specific) to cleanup the knee and he is going to be on the outside of the normal recovery envelope. But absent that, I don't think he's going to get over this hurdle easily. Its gone on too long.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I'm not saying who I think is right and who I think is wrong, but the two ways to handle a situation is really on display - the Eagles are bringing CBs "left and right", and the Packers are simply sticking to what we've got. Hell, I am saying, I think their way is better, in this case anyway.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

The Packers bring in between 5-10 players per week for try outs. Just because you don't read about it doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

There is a part of me that think he just didn't want to play football anymore after he got paid. He saw how Bak pulled off sitting for a couple seasons and getting the bulk of his deal paid out. He decided to do the same. It worked until we caught on so he took what he could get in FA and figured screw it, I'll collect a little more before I hang them up. Baltimore figured it out and dumped him. I won't be shocked if Jaire never plays another snap.

Perhaps. But once cut, he no longer had the bounty that Bahk was chasing on the remaining years on the deal. And he wasn't asked (that we know of) to pay any of the bonuses back).

Jaire stepping away from football and may retire to focus on his health. Hope the best for him

The signing for such a small deal is the crack in my theory, but even a couple million to a kid who grew up modest is huge. No reason not to grab it. However since it was a one year deal he would be incentivized to play and play well to land the next signing bonus before starting the process over again. Its still plausible that was his plan, but then he played like shit so shut it down. His body has been banged up. He was always sort of a punk. I don't think he has any desire to get banged up again. He got his money, I think he is on to the next point in his life which is hanging around reminiscing about his couple good seasons with a bunch of "friends" who say "YEA" a lot. I just think its who he is.

An inglorious end to his career. But most NFL player's ends are inglorious. Not too many get to have a farewell tour like Rodgers.
