The pricing doesn't makes sense. I'm not sure the Packers wanted to commit more than $5 mil this season for a backup. He got more money from the Raiders as he will get some starts for them as they bring the rookie along. But I'm not sure Kirk wants to make the Marcus Mariota backup average.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He has proven to be an effective backup already, however; so, I expect a decent career for him in that way, at least.
That game in Baltimore reminded me of Ryan Tannehill in the playoffs when people said he leaned on Henry and he came out and dropped long dime TD passes. Willis is a better runner with a stronger arm than Tannehill ever was.

I think the offense looked better when he played. It wasn't a huge sample size, but it was enough to make me believe that his floor isn't much below Love and his ceiling is higher.
Sharp, we don't always agree, but I think you summed up my position to perfection here.

This is good. One of me is too many.

Viqueens need a QB. Imagine the hype for those games if they traded for Love...

The NFL informed clubs today it will begin training replacement officials next month with the goal of preparing them for team visits starting June 1 if no deal can be reached with the referees union, per a memo obtained by NFL Network.

Interesting. So you don't think the elite mobility and arm talent he displayed here translates? This isn't Matt Flynn type talent we are talking about. I would even say his tools are in a different world than Matt Hasselbeck. Then it simply comes down to his brain which didn't seem to bad either.

He came in relief 2x using the same gameplan Love used. The Baltimore game wasn't limited at all

                • The Green Bay Packers have hired LSU Director of Athletic Performance Jake Flint to be their assistant strength and conditioning coach, per NFL reporter Aaron Wilson.

Flint is a longtime staff member of LSU head coach Brian Kelly, first joining his staff in 2007 at Cincinnati before spending 12 years with him at Notre Dame and later joining the Tigers in 2021.

Hopefully he wasn't involved with Risk Management with scissor lifts.

                    • Dexter Lawrence anyone? A 2nd and a 5th is what Schefter thinks it will cost. That and a new contract; Jordan Davis in Philly is the new benchmark there ($26 mil APY).

                      • I don't know. He's 28 years old, but nose tackles can be effective into their early to mid-thirties, I think. But do you want that big of a contract hanging around your neck? And for that price, could you trade one of your fifths to move up a bit in the second round and grab a nose tackle in this draft who would be younger and cheaper and maybe, maybe, have some upside?

Hell, I don't know. What say you?

                        • Lawrence had the worst stats of his career last year. But I've also heard he may have been the most double-teamed DL in the NFL. Lawrence, Javon Hargrave and Devonte Wyatt would be quite a trio on the DL.

It would be a win now move by a GM that lived off his predecessors success but only is able to get a 7 seed with a roster he has held together by trading the future. What could possibly go wrong??

Full terms of the Giants/Bengals deal ...

                              • Bengals get: DT Dexter Lawrence.

                              • Giants get: 10th overall pick.

No other picks involved. Cincinnati gets its guy. New York is now picking fifth and 10th overall on Thursday night.
