Yeah, so much for a later second-round pick and a fifth being enough to land that guy.
Tenth overall pick, and now you've got to give the guy an even bigger contract? That's a lot to give up. Are the Bengals really that close that this move makes any sense at all?"The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

Defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II passed his physical with the Cincinnati Bengals and has signed a one-year, $28 million extension, the Win Sports Group told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.
Lawrence, acquired by the Bengals from the New York Giants for the No. 10 pick in this week's draft, is now under contract with Cincinnati for the next three seasons.I can't run no more

Trading a high draft pick, especially a top 10 pick, for a Yokozuna is dumber than Vrabel hanging out by the pool with Russini.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostDefensive tackle Dexter Lawrence II passed his physical with the Cincinnati Bengals and has signed a one-year, $28 million extension, the Win Sports Group told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.

The kung fu (skillz) between Lawrence and, say, Hustling Jack Heflin ain’t as Wu-Tang (material) as that of, say, Micah Parsons and Kingsley Enabre. Point being, coulda used the 10th pick on a poetic “edge” and still gotten a solid D-Yokozuna in the 6th round.I don’t want a battle from beginning to end

Readng your posts is like reading a foreign language. Yokozumas, kung fu, Wu-Tang. Are you hung up on faux-asian culture?
Like, can you translate your post into English?"The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

You’re an English professor. Am I using metaphors correctly?Originally posted by Fritz View PostReadng your posts is like reading a foreign language. Yokozumas, kung fu, Wu-Tang. Are you hung up on faux-asian culture?

What I am barking about is, no one is denying that Lawrence a better defensive tackle than “Hustling” Heflin. But the talent gap between the “fats” - offensive linemen or chubby defensive linemen, is not as widespread as that of edge rushers, corners, or QBs, etc. Enabre can’t hold Parsons’ jockstrap as a pass rusher. Heflin narrows the gap on Lawrence via hustling alone.
Thus, it’s stupid to draft a fat guy with a high draft pick. Clark, Raji, Harrell, Morgan, Belton, etc., all dumb picks.I don’t want a battle from beginning to end

I'm starting to long for TT. But sort of a combo deal. I think the way GMs are using way too much cap on 2-3 salaries the only way to win the big game is to hit pay dirt in the draft with multiple rookie deals contributing bigly at once. Of course our GM wants to draft athletes, play them out of position, coach them up and have them contribute just in time to pay them. I have almost as little faith in the Gutes as I do in Horst...but at least we have a good coach in GB.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi
