I can only assume this is Karma for the NFL deciding that what Bak did all those years wasn't considered holding. Morgan used a very similar technique in college and I'm terrified that it will be holding when he takes over at LT.Originally posted by Freak Out View Postwhen is Parsons going to get a holding call? WTF. I know holds happen all the time but shit.
But seriously Mica needs to develop a spin and duck technique that will force the refs hands. It will force defenders to GRAB instead of clothesline him.The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary -- Vince Lombardi

Nice. Was going to say I don't think that's in the rulebook. If it was Mossy Cade should have been flagged. And James Lofton.Originally posted by sharpe1027 View PostI don't think there's a rule addressing this specific situation. On an unrelated note, the Pack needs to work on figuring out the run D here.
Bohanna? Riley? Both?
Skipping ahead to the next Bears matchup, you've got to do two things: stop the run in the middle (the Packer linebackers are fast; they can stop the outside stuff), and push the pocket and keep Williams in it.
In Halfley I trust."The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

My sense is the Halfley and the Packers D can figure out Williams and how to defend him better than the Dennis Allen and the Bears D can defend Pookie. (Hint: I don't think they can.)Originally posted by Fritz View PostOn an unrelated note, the Pack needs to work on figuring out the run D here.

Parsons had the same problem in Dallas.... for his ENTIRE career. Dallas sent complaints to HQ, but apparently the Shield has instructed refs not to throw flags for holding Parsons. I wonder when the Commish decides such instructions are detrimental to the game.
It's getting more noise in recent weeks, but it might have played into Jerry letting Parsons go, imma gonna guess. He still wrecks games even with being held.

The answer is actually in the rules. If a defensive player uses a rip move that moves the offensive players hands from a non-hold position to a holding position, it is not a hold. Parsons knocks the OT's hands up in an attempt to disengage, and that gives the OT a pass to hold. Parsons needs a different or a second move to disengage. It's also why he is often more successful looping around.2025 Ratpickers champion.

That accounts for a few of the holds. Certainly not what was happening on a lot of the plays.Originally posted by MadScientist View PostThe answer is actually in the rules.
