He was cut because of the rift with the team and the fact that he hasn't been what he was pre injury. He is slated to make more next year than he is worth so they cut him early hoping someone takes him and pays the 500k game check. He isn't the pro bowler he was, but he would help our CB room. Currently he is an average NFL corner from what I have read. He is also close with parsons and grabbing him could set us up for a modest prove it deal next year when we either cut him or negotiate a pay cut. You never know if the knee fully heals and he returns to glory, although he is a notorious gambler that gives up big plays and makes big plays.

I'm not against the idea. Can he be any worse than Valentine? At least against the run.

Maybe he sucks against the run. I don't know. But it couldn't hurt to give him a try. At least make Carrington consider making a tackle next time he's out there.

Areas shaded purple will get Green Bay at Minnesota. Spero Dedes and Adam Archuleta with the call.
Areas shaded pink, including Alaska and Hawaii will get Indianapolis at Houston. Ian Eagle and JJ Watt with the call.
Areas shaded green will get Cleveland at Cincinnati. Tom McCarthy and Logan Ryan with the call.

Probably want to sit Doubs and Watson. Melton may be needed at CB. Might actually see the ball thrown Golden's direction.

Ridder has appeared in 25 NFL games, with 18 starts. He last played in 2024, when he made a start for the Las Vegas Raiders. Between the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Ridder made 17 starts for the Falcons, going 8-9.

Ridder has completed 63.6 percent of his passes, thrown 16 touchdown passes and 14 interceptions, averaged 6.8 yards per attempt and produced a passer rating of 82.6 at the NFL level.

Ridder was most recently with the Vikings. He spent two weeks on the team's 53-man roster between September and October and then had a one-week stint on the team's practice squad to end November and start December.

Sources: #Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs is joining the #Packers. An addition before the playoffs.

One important connection: At Alabama, Trevon Diggs’ secondary coach, helping him make the transition to CB, was Derrick Ansley.

Ansley is now the #Packers defensive pass game coordinator.

This is a kind of swing they needed to make. They can't win a super bowl as things stand, so they need to gamble and Diggs is a notorious gambler.

Well, maybe Ridder can give the Packers some useful information about the Vikings to help Tune.

They play each other twice a year. I don't think there's too many secrets. If he shows something, maybe he's a candidate to replace Willis next year.

Ideally Trevon can play at least a little like he did before the injury, but I sorta doubt it. He could hardly be worse than Nixon and Hobbs and Valentine, though. I see they brought up another Corner or two from the practice squad too. Ditto about them. They could hardly be worse than what we've been playing.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Hobbs is out with an injury. That's likely who he'll be replacing.

He is a LOT like Nixon, Valentine and Hobbs. Coverage snaps versus yards allowed per coverage snap. From Acme Packing Company.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Adjusted yards per coverage. Gives 20 yard penalty for allowed TDs and 45 yard credit for interceptions. The idea is if you want an overall metric, this is better representative of results over a game than QB rating against you. Also from Acme Packing Company.
