I'm leaning more to Al Harris, although Leonhard would be ok too.

It's remotely possible we could get both, as I doubt Harris would be working for Parker in Dallas. Leonhard as DC, Harris as passing game coordinator or whatever.
What could be more GOOD and NORMAL and AMERICAN than Packer Football?

Harris is defense passing game coordinator with the Bears now.

I did not know that. I thought he was still with the Cowboys.

The Green Bay Packers are expected to wait until Jim Leonhard is available to interview before Matt LaFleur makes a decision on his next defensive coordinator.

While on the "Wilde & Tausch" show on ESPN Madison on Friday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN said he believes LaFleur will "talk to a lot of guys" in the defensive coordinator search and Leonhard -- who currently is on staff with the Denver Broncos and preparing for Sunday's AFC Championship Game -- is a top candidate.

"I don't think anything happens until he can talk to Jim Leonhard. I think Jim Leonhard is high on his list," Demovsky said.

The Packers cannot talk to or interview Leonhard until the Broncos are eliminated. Even if the Broncos win Sunday, Demovsky was not sure if the Packers (or any other team) could interview Leonhard during the Super Bowl bye week -- potentially forcing LaFleur to wait longer before talking with one of his top candidates.

            .
If Mike really offered him last time but he declined because he thought the Badger HC job was going to be his, then this might be legit.

I mean c'mon you know they are texting or probably more accurately using signal. JL will be the DC. I'd be shocked if he's not.

Could be, but you are hanging your hat on this expecting him to even get an interview.

Wouldn't it be a kick in the nuts if The Flower waited, interviewed Leonhartd, and he turned Matty down again? Or if the Packers lowballed Leonhard?

                      I'm just saying it's a strange world.

But Leonhard's family supposedly still lives in MadTown.

If they hire him, I'm going to blame Bretsky for every defensive breakdown.

I have occasionally listened to Wilde and Tausch over the years but I am not aware of them breaking information like this (not exactly news) two days in a row. Here is Rob Demovsky the day before with a forceful rebuttal of the Packers are cheap on assistant coaches storyline. Go to 1 hour and 25 minutes in to see Rob. Demo says Rizzi was never coming to Green Bay despite the interview.

I know which city he works in. We could picket the town square/City Building until he comes forward to answer our questions. j/k

Agents have conversations all the time. The Packers indirectly say to an agent, "Hypothetically if the Packers DC position was available, would Leonhard be interested and the Agent winks and says hypothically, Yes very much."

Well, the Packers don't have to say the position is hypothetically open. And if they're speaking on the phone, the wink won't help.

                                But your point is well-taken.

Still if said agent was worth his salt, he would also say that Leonhard might have other opportunities as well, and is interested in exploring all his options.

We'll all get honed in on Leonhard and Harris and maybe Gannon, and in the end LeFleur will hire someone out of left field like he did with Halfley.
