After seeing some analysis from Leroy Butler, I don't think this is a huge loss. Also, it makes sense for Downard as a new DC may well want new people.

Downard was one of those guys who MLF promoted twice internally instead of going out and hiring a "real" assistant.

Yes, you are right; I actually completely bought into all the media reports we were waiting for Jimmy. I watched him growing up and I would say he's hands down my favorite Badgers of all time. Today, and tomororw were supposed to be great days.

My hopes were so high, I actually expected him to be our next DC. But I should have known. There have been SO MANY no brainer moves GB should have made over the years choosing, proven, high quality, special players from Wisconsin and the only thing consistent, is the Packers always F'ck up and pass on a near sure thing they think they are too smart.

That's not just Flower and our Shitbag GM; that started the day Ron Wolf drafted Turd Buckley over Troy Vincent. HOW the future could have been different if we had a 6ft All Pro CB would could man up with MIchael Irvin.

Are you implying, that contact could have been made and maybe Jimmy passed word he didn't want the job ?

That could have occured; personally I think Flower was duped by Rich's agent into believing Gannon was the lead guy for a job when he was just one of many being considered

I don't understand hiring a defensive coordinator who's going to change the defensive system to a 3 - 4 going into the season that is supposed to be your last best chance for a couple years to compete for the Superb Owl.

He told Flower he would change the scheme to fit the players strengths. It seems like that is the recipe to get hired in GB. But hey, he had two good seasons with Phily with talent so stocked you or I could have led them to a top 12 defense.

Meanwhile, details of every head coach getting extended have been announced. New hires are having their pressors.

Meanwhile the Shitbag and Flower just keep hiding from the media, having no press conferences, trying to avoid it all.

But hey, Packer sits and zones are created all over Facebook with ai bots and hired workers trying to tell us all it's going to be ok.

I can't believe all of our untalented (because they are underpaid) coaches are being poached by other teams. Those teams must be even more dumb than we are. (or its possible that our hires of up and comers are solid and in demand).

They may or may not go to a 3-4. What will change is that with more 2 deep safeties, they D line will need to switch from 1 gap to 1.5 gap. Regardless of front, they will need a traditional nose tackle on the roster and he's not here currently.

I see we just hired one of Rich Gannon's followers. Two years in Arizona and then went to Western Michigan to be a DC for a year.
