The Flower's friends don't get fired. We see that over and over and over again.

The only thing consistent about Richie is we are going to be in the bottom 5 in the NFL every year

He's the highest paid special teams coach in the NFL, and SOMEHOW he was given an assistant head coach title to make it harder for him to leave. That is laughable. Offensive and Defensive phenom coordinators (SEE JIMMY LEONARD IN DENVER) normally get that title because it elevates there pay to a level where they may not want to leave.

And we gave it to our shit special teams coach. Apparently Richie is good for our culture in Green Bay and the players love him.

So what is our solution ? Probably a combo of things.

To start, our GM has to place some sort of value on Special Teams. He discounted this in his media conference with the press. He challenged the media and noted they have several special teams specialists. I'm honestly not sure who they are to be honest, but our GM is an apologist for himself ALL THE TIME. We haven't had a competent returner since Nixon was back there, we tired Matthew Golden, who had never returned a punt in his life, and basically the cup is empty with options

I would release Richie from his ST duties, lower his salary and Re Assign him to another coaching role the team.

But that would take stones, and the Flower doesn't have any.

Instead he does a coaching review, let's it drag out endlessly, and waits to see if any of his guys get hired. We keep our offensive coordinator who should be an offensive line coach, our offensive line coach who shouldn't be employed, and a special teams coach who gives us bottoms 5 production every year, penalties, and botched Onside kicks.

Sounds like a great plan, right ?
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

Quit keeping a fourth tight end or a tenth OL on the roster. Make room for a guy who can turn the field for your team.
Total shakeup with how the special team unit functions sounds like a step in the right direction. However you would think that would require and new special teams coach to make that happen. With the same coach wouldn’t you pretty much get the same sort of result?
How can we expect anything different from Bisaccia next season? It’s a total mystery to me.

Gute liked the coverage units. And he all but said they didn't sign a return specialist and don't sound like they are in a hurry to do so.

I keep telling folks, its not the coach that causes this to happen.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Why the hell won't the Packers devote a roster spot to a returner who can flip the field and will likely get the chance to do so four to six times a game, if not more? Do we really need that extra extra shitty tight end just in case? Can we make do with one fewer receiver active on game day? One fewer offensive lineman? Jaysus.

Especially when you think back just a few years and remember the impact Nixon had when they accidently stumbled onto him as a return man. Returners make a difference.

Maybe that's the problem. Maybe because they stumbled into Nixon, they figure they can make do with what they have on the current roster.

That has been their approach for years. Has worked only once in a while.

Who knew Packers ST coaches were in such demand?

Well, it is the, uh, Browns doing the hiring. So . . .

It might suggest that people around the league agree with those who have been saying that the problem with the Packers ST is not primarily the ST coaches. The biggest problem being lack of commitment by GM and HC to improving ST.

Basically, the Packers need a good returner and to not fuck up field goals.

I find it interesting that Bisaccia is leaving the Packers, but not talking about retirement at age 66. Gotta wonder if the felt he didn't have the kind of support from HC and/or GM he needed to be successful.

                                @Peter_Bukowski

Two names I'd be interested in from the Packers standpoint:

Devin Fitzsimmons for the Seahawks. They had arguably the best special teams in the NFL last year.

And Jett Modkins fro the Lions. They were top 10 in special teams DVOA the last two years. 1st in 2024.
