  • Thanks, guys. I have a theory on Favre press conferences: (a few of you have heard this already) I think he doesn't want to answer a lot of stupid questions so when someone asks him a question, he starts talking and keeps rambling on for at least 5 minutes on it and then takes another one and gives that one about 8-10 and by the time he's done he's only had to answer about 3-4 questions. That way he only has to answer the questions by the guys he wants to answer and controls the conference.

    • Ok, lets try these rose colored glasses on.

T2 has now reinforced both lines, O and D and esp. on O there seems to be some upside.

The coaching on both lines looks good. The O line has definitely improved, esp. Colledge and Pickett has been playing well.

We still need a monster DE, but they are as hard to find as a franchise QB, so no surprise there.

I think we need a replacement for Clifton soon. While someone said the radio indicated he was dominating, his knees looked really sore today between plays.

He has found keepers at WR and Safety.

Once we find someone to fill the vacant secodnary coach position, we'll be tougher there as well.

I say things are looking up. We are also looking up at the rest of the league, but first things first....
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

He could give some pointers to the head coach.

        • But I still don't understand why when the run game is finally starting to break free and you have a first down with 4 minutes left, you don't run it at all. Why try 3 deep balls in a row when Herron's been getting you 5.3 ypc?

          • We snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today.

So many errors just piling up that it would be almost impossible to say one thing or one person is to blame.

There were also multiple opportunities for someone to come up the hero, too - just didnt happen.

            Very depressing.

Did you watch the press conference? What was some of the main things said today by Favre?

The defense made a critical stand in the Rams last possession. Then the offense drives down the field. Fumble. Without that fumble, everybody is saying "what a gritty performance by the packers."

i understand what you are saying about the dropped passes.

                • I was at the game; the crowd was awesome - they forced false starts and kept yelling. Also, simlpy put, the Packers wasted this game. Period. I'm not gonna let the loss bring me down. Go Packers. PS - Hold onto the damn ball plus catch those Bulger ints.

                  • He's disappointed
He thinks that he should have come up with a way to win
He said there's two reactions that guys will have if the season starts to get long--either they will start collecting their paychecks saying "yeah, whatever" or they will dig in and continue to do the things they need to do week in and week out regardless of the outcome of the game. He's hoping for more of the second type of guys. This is the 2nd week he challenged them to hold it together.
He unfortunately said he sometimes wonders what he's doing here.
He feels like when he steps on the field, he should be able to win the game.
The last play was a freak thing and he felt bad for Tausch because he played a good game and that had to happen on the last one.
He felt he threw the ball ok, but there was a slant he was off on and he's supposed to make that throw.
It could very well be a long year. We'll see how guys respond.

I'm sorry they didn't get you a win, but the hidden upside is that if they had, you'd have had to travel back for every home game for the rest of the season as the "lucky fan."

Thanks, Ziggy. I just hope the Packers don't bench Favre after a few more losses to play A-Rod.
You said he sometimes wonders what he's doing here? Why the HECK does he have to say crap like that. Now we're going into a bye week...and for 2 weeks we're going to have to hear about how Favre wants out of Green Bay or how Favre wishes he would've retired or went to another team. I wish Brett Favre would get his wish and never give post game press conferences because he always screws with the media.

That's what I said. Two weeks we're gonna have to listen to it unless he gives a Wednesday conference this week and says something profound to shut them up.

Gift wrapped? Are you talking about EJ Henderson's int for a TD? It was 4th and 10 and Kitna was going down....that pick just made the score more lopsided, I'd hardly call that gift wrapped. The Vikes would have been in a position to run out the clock and win by 2. Instead they win by 9....again, how is that gift wrapped?

Anyway, damn fine day of football. Lots of close games....

                            • Come on, homer! Detroit gave them 13 points in the 4th quarter--in a game they were down 14 to a poor team. You can believe what you want. The Vikings are 3-2. Good for them, but to me they actually are looking worse as the year has gone on. It doesn't look like they could score 20 points by themselves against any team.

Green Bay is 1-4. You can throw that back at me, but I certainly think there's little talent difference between the two teams.

On a side note, the Packers could very well have played a 5-0 team and three 4-1 teams after 5 weeks. The Lions are 0-5. Kind of funny because, before the year, I thought this was an easy stretch of games. That's the NFL for you.

Harvey! Dude, when you play good defense you force these things....minimize it all you want. Now one thing I WILL say, Brad Johnson isn't playing well and the Vikings offense looks sick, and not a good sick.
They are also constantly shooting themselves in the foot with penalties.

I also notice you didn't mention the points the Vikings gifted the Lions when they fumbled on their own 30 on a punt. But then again you never ever mention stuff like that.....you're OK Harv but you crack me up!
