You are spot on Packer11. I caught some of the raider games like I do every season (have to be informed so i can talk smack to their nutjob fans).

In the beginning of the season Moss was going full steam and would always be waving for the ball but it never founds it way to him because the QB was usually picking himself off the ground by that time. Was it OK for him to give up? No, but their season was hosed by week 6. Im sure more players then just Moss was mentally down by the end of the season.

I'm leaning towards liking this trade but was wondering why Moss would only play two more years?? I think Brett will play two more but with Moss being 30 and never really hurt, he has 3-5 in him if he wants it. That is a HUUUUUGE IF but that's what makes this trade possible. A HOF talent who is 30 for an unproven QB???

I remember when Jerry Porter was laughing and clapping on the sidelines when Aaron Brooks was sacked for like a sixth time that game..

Moss sure as hell wasn't the only one who was pissed off...

If he's not any good, then advantage push, but if he turns out, we get shot in the ass, cause then when Favre retires, we have no replacement. And the fact is, Rodgers is the replacement even you guys don't like it, cause it's not any of our decision. One more guy, namely Randy Moss, for 2 season maybe, isn't gonna do shit for us. What are you all gonna say when him and Favre are both gone? then what? I'm sorry, but I don't wanna give up Rodgers, or a 2nd round pick, for hopefully 2 years of "okness".
Well said my friend. I just don't understand this lovefest with Moss. He will tear apart a young team like ours, faster than Brittany Spears walks in and out of a rehab clinic door.

If we had a youngt QB I would agree 100% but we don't and that is what makes this more interesting.

              I'm not sure about this.
Maybe a few meatloaf dinners at Applebee's, a fish fry or two, and a tour of several paper mills will get that boy's head cleared up and his mind right.

Thanks and I agree, this move has a chance to go real bad but if it goes good then the possiblities are endless.

That there is the deal maker. Had Favre not come back then hell no would I be for bringing in Moss.

Even if Moss runs down the field naked at halftime he still wouldnt outshine Favre. #4's status as a Packer and an NFL icon gives the Pack the best chance of any team to keep Moss under control.

Plus Im sure Moss has wet dreams of Favre launching 50+ yd bombs his way. :P

Hey Madtown...any idea where I can watch that clip that's quoted on your awesome sig where Moss says he has to see Brett Favre?

I've had that same dream myself.

Does this really seem like a move that Ted Thompson would make??
                            Think about it.

Before anyone says Charles Woodson let me point out that it was a bit of desperation due to exaspiration with Ahmad Carroll.

Aging players is not Ted's style(would not Green be signed).

I live in the Raiders broadcast area. I've seen more Raider games than I care to have seen.

                            1) If you haven't seen Moss play in the last 2 years, you don't know what you are talking about.

                            2) His play is declining. I thought he only ran one route before he joined the Raiders.

                            3) Andrew Walter is the best QB of his year group. He is a better passer than Rodgers, Alex Smith, and Kyle Orton.

                            4) Al Davis does not make fair deals.

Ive been looking for it too but I only have seen it on the NFL Films stuff. It was from a MNF game @ Lambeau in 2000 I believe. I think it was the same game Freeman has the miracle catch in OT.

I think this would work, and personally I have no problem giving up Rodgers if Favre.

Why? Not because of any premonition I have about how good he may or may not be. I say get something for him because if he sits two more years, he'll hit FA before he ever sees the field for us. If he looks good, we've got a Matt Schaub situation on our hands, where we've developed a QB, and risk losing him for nothing. If Favre is going to be around, draft another guy this year, and either he or Martin will turn out...
