    • With Woodson getting a huge cap number for this year, we are actually over the cap limit, but we do have some veterans we can cut.

      • Just remember the cap hit when you cut veterans. Their signing bonuses accelerate.

Bush's contract needs to be added into the fray.

ALSO, only the top 53 guys count against the cap. That allows teams to bring in UDFA for competition.

          • We already set aside a rookie pool--which each team has. Last year, San Francisco had the #1 draft position and a bunch of picks and their rookie pool was around $7M. That's the baseline we used.

            • If you only count top 53, then we are okay. We are $1.6M over the cap when you count all 58 players. If you throw out Dwan Edwards $(390,000), Bryan Scott ($460,000), Isaiah Kacyvenski ($550,000), Lennie Friedman ($550,000), and Reche Caldwell ($590,000), we are $880,000 under the cap. There will be some veterans (Caldwell, Salaam, St. Clair, Friedman, Hochstein are some candidates) that end up getting cut also.
