    And returning.
Who f'n cares. We don't need a receiver at that spot that won't even make the team over the guys we have.

    Wow

We have two starting calibur WR's. That's it. Then we have #5 guys and a player that may or may not get reinstated.

We need a WR a hell of a lot more than we needed another DL.

Bullshit. Robinson will start and be great. He would start on just about every team in the nfl. So, with him and driver and jennings and all the other young talent that showed up in the last game, Meachum would've suffered the same fate as the other "great return guy" we got in last years draft that is bagging groceries right now.

Do you understand that there is no guarantee that Robinson will even play next year ? He has to APPLY to be reinstated to the NFL at a time when the new commissioner wants to make examples.

He does not get to even practice til four games into the season; counting on him is just downright silly.
ONE MORE THING; MEACHAM IS NOT A RETURN GUY SO WHY YOU WOULD COMPARE HIM TO RODGERS IS BEYOND ME
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

      WHAT A DUMBASS....

I sure hope the Packers management is watching because TT, THIS ISN'T YOUR GOD DAMN TEAM!

      • can't tell me we couldn't trade back and gotten that same trade with Denver, and still get Harrell. I'm just not happy at all over this. Just in complete surprise and disappointment.

Repeat, this is not Madden, let's not forget the fact that Moss can be gotten for a 2nd rounder why would you even say give up a first?

          • Hall goes to the Bengels......

            Leon Hall
            CB | (5'11", 193, 4.39) | MICHIGAN

            Scouts Grade: 96

Strengths: An experienced, savvy and solid all-around cornerback prospect. He's a fluid and smooth athlete. Possesses adequate-to-good size and plays even bigger than his size would indicate. An aggressive and tough cornerback. Shows very good instincts and will do an excellent job of reading quarterbacks' eyes in coverage. He is at his best when working with some cushion. Breaks quickly and shows very good burst when closing on the ball in front of him. He won't shy down from a physical matchup. Fills hard versus the run and has developed into a reliable tackler in space. He shows good lateral mobility and fluid hips. He's a natural playmaker. Displays great ball skills in coverage and also does an excellent job of generating fumbles as an open-field tackler. Very consistent performer. Also has good intangibles and work ethic.

Weaknesses: : Lack of ideal turn-and-run skills is biggest knock. Doesn't play as fast as his 40-time indicates. Lacks the acceleration to recover from mistakes versus faster NFL receivers. Seems to be more comfortable coming forward then he is when asked to turn-and-run in press coverage.

Overall: Hall played in all 13 games (three starts) as a true freshman in 2003 finishing the year with 26 total tackles, one tackle for loss, three interceptions, and six pass breakups. In 2004, he saw action in all 12 games (nine starts) and recorded 48 total tackles, one tackle for loss, two interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. Hall then started all 12 games in 2005, registering 61 total tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, four interceptions, nine pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. In 2006, Hall started all 13 games, finishing with 45 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, 15 pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. Over the past four seasons, he has also returned 15 punts for 174 yards (11.6 average) and one touchdown.
Despite his excellent 40-time, Hall lacks ideal turn-and-run skills, which was exposed in his 2006 matchup versus Ohio State WR Ted Ginn Jr. However, Hall is a physical cover corner with a very good combination of size, athleticism, instincts and ball skills. He will fit best in a zone-heavy scheme in the NFL but he also can succeed playing mostly man-to-man coverage, so long as he gets deep-support versus upper-echelon speed receivers. Hall is big and strong enough to handle bigger NFL receivers one-on-one and he also does a fine job supporting the run. In our opinion, Hall grades out as a mid-first round prospect but in a weak class of cornerbacks he could come off the board in the top-10 picks.

He WILL be reinstated. The NFL is not going to ban him forever. He's served a stiff penalty. Plus, Favre MAKES stars out of good receivers. Great receivers don't make Favre look good. The young guys that kicked ass in the Bears game are as good if not better than the receivers left in this draft. They wouldnt have even made the team, except for the fact that you would have to pay them millions for a 16th pick and HAVE to keep 'em. No Way we pick receiver there.

I'll bet anyone here via paypal 50$ the Packers D finishes in the top 9 next year, and one of the top 4 in the NFC.
Harrell will have NOTHING to do with how the Packers defense finishes this season. We already have very good DT's. Taking Quinn and using him for bait or trading out of the first round was the right thing to do instead of taking a 3rd round at best player. Now we have to overpay the guy even though he isn't worth anything but the rookie minimum.

                • Come on guys. I can't honestly say that I know what is going to happen with this guy but the poeple who are here that have seen him seem excited and from everything I've heard; he loves football.

I think I might make him my name this year because 1. People who've seen him play love him and 2. I trust Ted Thompson a lot more than I trust myself.

Well, if what they are saying about Harrell is true (that he's a top 10 talent that is an injury risk), maybe he's good value at that spot. I'm not going to rip the Vikings pick because I liked the pick for them, but it's probably pretty similar. Peterson is a top 3 talent, injury concerns dropped him, but he's good value at #7. Harrell could be a top 10 talent, injury concerns dropped him, but he's good value at #16. I'm sure Viking fans aren't concerned about him as the pick, but none of that really matters. Also, personally, I never said that Peterson was going to get injured. I said there were injury concerns about him. Same can be said for this guy.

Javon Walker has banned all trades with Green Bay. He wouldn't take Ted Thompson's calls on the move down.

                          • Last I checked in the NFL they actually play football games to determine the winner not by arguing or "bench racing". Every year people rant and rave about so and so and everyyear some guys are hits and some guys are misses. I like the idea of a kick ass defense for the day when Favre retires because the league chews up and spits out qbs and we will be better off in a cold enviro ment having a mean and nasty defense that keeps our offense on the field.

Which is exactly why the Harrell pick makes sense to me. Pick the player you like the most in the first, pick the best WR/RB left in the second, pick the best RB/WR available in the third and we've got a good day 1. One of Bowe, Jarrett, Meachem, or Rice is probably going to be there in the second (or at least within striking distance of trading up.)

I admit, I was surprised but I'm coming to like the pick. The knock on top DEs is usually their heart. You can't really question the heart on this guy. His durability is a question, but I'm willing to bet that the draftniks over at Lambeau thought of that already.
