        • Well, I'm back. I won 5 bucks from my Dad betting that by the time I got home TT would of traded our pick.

Well, M'boy Kenny Irons is gone.

          I want Pittman!

                • Thompson got mercilessly TRASHED in the national media and local fan base last year when he picked 2 "unknowns" in the 2nd round, Daryn Colledge from Boise State(??) with the 47th pick, and Greg Jennings from Western Michigan(??) with the 52nd.

The 2 were arguably among the best at their position last year on the all rookie team.

                  • Giants grab Smith...good pick....

                    Steve Smith
                    WR | (5'11", 197, 4.44) | USC

                    Scouts Grade: 87

Strengths: Is a polished and reliable possession receiver-type. Shows good initial burst off the line of scrimmage. Is very quick and shows burst out of his breaks to consistently separate from man-to-man coverage. A polished route runner -- is crisp and precise when getting in and out of breaks. He displays outstanding focus and soft hands. Will pluck on the run and gets upfield quickly after the catch. He can consistently catch over his head and away from his frame. Lacks ideal acceleration, but he's quick and shifty after the catch. Effort as a blocker is adequate. He typically gets good positioning and will work to sustain.

Weaknesses: Is undersized. Possesses just decent height and below average bulk. Lacks elite top-end speed. Will not be much of a vertical threat in the NFL and will struggle to run away from faster NFL defensive backs. Only time we've seen him struggle catching the football is when he's forced to reach down below the waist while on the move (dropped a very catchable pass in first quarter vs. Notre Dame in 2005). He lacks ideal size and strength as a blocker. Effort is adequate but not great. He can take better angles and improve his leverage in order to be more effective as a stalk blocker. Durability is also a minor concern. He's undersized and missed five games due to injury (broken left leg) in 2004.

Overall: Smith served as USC's third receiver as a true freshman in 2002 and appeared in 12 games. He ended the season with 17 receptions for 319 yards (18.8) and two touchdowns. In 2004, Smith played in eight games, made seven starts, and missed five games due do a broken leg. He caught 42 passes for 660 yards (15.7 average) and six touchdowns. Smith started eight of the 13 games he played in during the 2005 season, had 60 catches for 957 yards (15.9 average), and scored five touchdowns. He finished the 2006 season as a first team All-PAC 10 selection, playing in all 13 games, and catching 71 passes for 1,083 yards (15.3 average) and nine touchdowns.
Smith is underrated and has been overshadowed by all the star power surrounding him throughout the years at USC. He lacks the size of a No. 1 receiver in the NFL, which obviously places a lower ceiling on his draft potential. However, Smith possesses the instincts, quickness, speed, reliable hands and work ethic to emerge as a very good No. 2 receiver in the NFL, and he's polished enough to contribute immediately as a rookie. That's why, in our opinion, Smith is worthy of second-round consideration in the 2007 draft.

                    • I would have loved to get Jarrett or Rice in round two, but they were gone.
Not a bad deal to trade down; hopefully a RB TT really likes is there.

It seems like the 1-2 round WR talent is gone. That's why I figured it was Bowe or Meacham in round one
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER
