Surprised they'd pick up Johnson and Simpson... both are reported to have 1st day talent, but 10 cent heads - guys like that rarely stick.
As for Hodge, as I've been saying, he's simply miscast in the Packers system. He's a base down player, and that's it... I think he's going to always be limited in space.
That said, in college he was known for being very instinctive - and, I can vouch for that. Every time I say him play in college, he was w/o a doubt the best defender on the field for Iowa.
He diagnosed plays instantaneously, delivered hard hits, was a very solid tackler, and could take on and shed... hopefully we'll see some of those traits come thru this year; but, I don't think there's any denying that he was a disappointment last year.
In the end, he belongs in the middle in a 3-4.
