It is rather odd. Just like the other thread about effigies. Here we sit; a bunch of middle to upper middle class white people on our expensive computers debating whether fishing line or rope was or was not situated around a cut out’s neck.

The Left wastes plenty of oxygen on these debates. Yet, before I can post this post, another young black will have been murdered by a young black man. Another young black man will be sent off to prison. That is a problem for ALL people……black, white, pink, yellow, orange, it doesn’t matter.

But go ahead; let's spend our time on a supposed effigy and what kind of rope as used to hang it. We are becoming a weaker country everyday.

I suggest you go look at the first page of the thread in question, the one started by OPB on the hanging of the Obama image at a Christian school in Oregon. Take a good look at the first three responses, all highly defensive in tone, and note where they're coming from on the political spectrum. Then tell me who's "wasting oxygen on these debates."

Just for referance I called them idiots and rascists. BUT that being said, yes we get defensive because we know 2 things:

1) Most of the time when shit like this happens it is done by the left trying to blame the right.

2) Most of the time when people scream rascism and try to ruin someone it is baseless BS. This is why when something like don imus comes up people defend them.

I think people like imus and stern are disgusting and I never listen to them unless I'm flipping the radio and I land on them. Howard Stern is an avowed leftist. I have listened to his show about 20 minutes total in my life. In those 20 minutes I heard him take a call from a young black man who he ended up screaming at "shut the hell up you stupid porch monkey." I have NEVER forgotten that. Idiots happen. The best thing you can do is dismiss the true idiots and try and talk seriously.

It reached that point with ty in the past, but he has toned it down a tad. But honestly hoosier...if you can't see what is going on I can't really help you. I see the left conjure up crap all the time and it is a worse problem than some idiot kids hanging an obama cutout. You want a real defense I can offer it up if you want, but I don't believe it....something like this.

These kids were pointing out that race based scholarship programs were just as offensive as race based lynchings. A pretty deep thought process that was missed by most. Basing anything on race is wrong be it scholarships, jobs or blind hatred. Now go ahead and tell me how wrong I am.

I think I am going to go out and start my own scholarship program for white kids...that isn't offensive is it?

Well, I get annoyed when people begin pulling percentages out of their butts like you seem to do. I've seen you say this before, but I have to say I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about here. What kind of research have you done--or read--that would lend credibility to this assertion? Or is this another one of those "Rituxin isn't used in the UK" kind of arguments?

The scholarship program that you're getting all huffy about WAS BEING PROPOSED BY THE CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY itself. Let me repeat that: the evangelical university had planned a recruitment strategy to try to boost its minority numbers. Frankly I don't care what an evangelical university decides to do to boost its appeal, and I also couldn't care less what kind of scholarhip program you see fit to fund, but consider here that in defending a group of miserable little racists you're not arguing against the left and its big government social programs but instead against your own people, or at least the evangelicals that you share the far right with.

Ty, since you seem extremely interested in the two movies, tell me this. How did the two viewer populations break down, politically (if known). My prediction would be that percentage-wise there were more conservatives at Religulous than libs at 'Carol.'
