                  On a happier note, I did buy a new vacuum cleaner and it works really well...sigh.

                      No, I fell for a little Hoover. It's smaller, but powerful, more quiet than other machines, can fit under the furniture and gets up fur REALLY well. It has that wind tunnel thing going on, so you can watch your dirt spin when you pick it up. And, probably because it's smaller (and lighter), it was less expensive.

                        Before we bought our acreage we had an upstÀirs and down stairs roomba that worked awesome on hardwood and shorter carpet. Now that we have longer carpet in our house the battery dies very quickly and now we no longer have robotic servants to do our bidding. My wife bought a hoover and likes that it sucks.

                          We had a roomba for a very short period of time. The dog fur laughed at it and it moved to the neighbor's house in shame.
