  • Weather changing. I used to get bloody noses all the time when I was a child. They'd occur primarily in April/May and September/October for what its worth.

    • its probably roaches

there coming out of there winter hiding places and are looking for new nests

i was once staying in a hotel when i woke up in the middle of the night with this insane sound in my head. it sounded like someone was scratching a drum cover inside my head.

after freaking out for a few minutes i calmed down and realised something was in my ear.

i went into the bathroom and stuck my ear under the water. pretty soon the scratching stopped, and a tiny little beatle fell out. i figure he was scratching my ear drum.

then i fought like hell for the next few minutes trying to get the rest of the water out of my ear

      pretty creepy episode

That sounds more like a freak accident. ewwe!

B, do you have a medical clinic there that offers a 24 hr. help nurse service? I'd call and see if this is something that's going around or people are reporting. Dang, I'd probably call 911 if I saw all that blood.

        • Today, while doing squats, I failed for the first time ever. I was on my last rep of my last set, and I couldn't get all the way up.

In a last ditch effort to get up, I tried to use an explosive motion, and somehow I ended up launching the weight up and over my head.

I've never seen anything like that. It was really loud and I got a ton of weird looks.

          • finally got this dam thing to stop; it ruined my 24 experience !

Called up the doc and they noted I have to press the middle of the nose together for 20 straight minutes; heck I now have a mark on my nose from doing that

But it appears the bleeding stops; hopefully I don't sneeze again tonight; have two meetings first thing in the morning
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER

                    • I've probably golfed 5 times in my life. I enjoyed it, but with a busy schedule with the kids and only a few friends that golf, never really got into it. So during my daughter's freshman orientation the golf coach approaches her and starts talking to her. She obviously made an impression on her and she decided to join the golf team. .....never touched a golf club in her life other than miniature golf...lol Turns out she has a natural talent for the game. She's played with the varsity team (top 6) in every meet so far as a freshman.

Goes to show you the impact a coach can have. I'm thankful she reached out to her for whatever reason it was.....she loves the game and I think she found her niche.

....now maybe she can teach me the game.

                      • I'm going to Barcelona. Anyone know anything to do that actually requires leaving the hotel room?

                        • I have a colleague who worked in Barcelona for 4 years as a graphic designer. He loved it and talks about it all the time. I'll casually bring it up and see what he says.

On other topics, I recently bought some boxer briefs to wear when I do weight lifting. I really like them for this purpose, and for lounging around the house without pants on. They're not as good under jeans or slacks as boxers, though. However, I find that I can comfortably squat past parallel now!

                          • Don't squat past parallel. You'll trash your knees.

                            • Squatting past parallel is actually easier on your knees from everything I've read. Ass to grass if done properly is really good for you.

                              • How much extra weight are you carrying on your knees right now? How many people have you known who've had knee replacements? Now there's some fun. Dropping past parallel forces your knee tendons to bear some of the weight in bringing you back up. But don't bother responding. I know you don't listen to anyone so I'm not going to argue. But here's a tip that I learned along the way. When the doc tells you you have to be able to lift your leg, you have to re-remember to flex the quads or you won't be able to do it and you'll have to stay in the hospital an extra day. Enjoy the surgery and rehab.
