Well, fuck, I have lots of guns that would be my choice too if someone handed me 2k. Any reason you don't like the panther, or is it just because you don't like the way it looks?

    • had to replace the buffer spring, the stock was too light, causing cycling issues

i haven't put enough rounds through it to really feel confident with it

i want to know that when i pull the trigger the gun goes "boom" and the round hits where i want it to

How often are you really going to be shooting it? Sure the 308 is twice the price, but if you're only pushing 200 rounds through it a year, then you're only talking a $50 difference. Yeah, it'll cost a little more to stockpile a decent supply of ammo, but it's also a lot more versatile (target, hunting game, shooting hungry democrats and varmint) round.

But the experts also say don't let the caliber determine your purchase. Find the firearm you're comfortable with because that's what's important. You can work around the .223's limitations as a round if you really like the gun, but if you hate the feel of the .308, you'll just be pissed off you spent that much money on a gun you don't like shooting.

        That's totally not helpful.

I got a 60 round Surefire magazine for my .223, so I don't even have to try to aim anymore.

That's a lot more useful. There's a lot of people who hate on a weapon without ever having used it. Is yours a 223 or 308?

            sounds familiar

            .223

never really cared how a gun looks. the beauty is in the function. if it shoots well, it's a looker. if it doesn't shoot well, it could have long blond hair, perfect D cup breasts and a heart shape ass and still look like a pig to me

Bolt guns don't really work for me, I am left handed. I am looking for an assault rig mostly, and if it can replace my BAR then all the better. Like I said I usually would want to keep my BAR but the piston keeps getting moisture in it.

Mostly it wasn't helpful. Considering I already have a big game cartridge in the 30/06 that is damn similar to the .308 I am comfortable shooting both calibers. You are talking 5 dollars difference for a box of twenty. I already have 10 boxes of 30/06.

                Buy the .223
Get shot gun or hand gun
                OR
                buy .308
                wait on handgun or shotgun

It doesn't come down to caliber, it really comes down to cash

                • Tell me about the Ruger Mini 30 tactical. Any real complaints or feedback?

                    IMO, in order of priority:

                    Handgun
                    Shotgun
                    .223
                    .308

                    • Get the .308. Don't bother with the pussy .223. I just bought a Browning X Bolt 7mm Mag. Bad Ass.

My wife thought about getting one because she thought it was cute with the ss barrel and black stock. So if cute is what you're going for, then it has one vote.

                        • The Ruger Mini was what the A-Team used.

We are talking tactical arms. I have a 30/06 BAR already.
