Bolt guns don't really work for me, I am left handed. I am looking for an assault rig mostly, and if it can replace my BAR then all the better. Like I said I usually would want to keep my BAR but the piston keeps getting moisture in it.

Jumping into the .223 vrs .308 debate, in the military we used the Canadian version of an M-16 as standard issueso it was .223. The rifle was fairly accurate and dead simple to use so I like .223 with it. However civy side I prefer the .308 as I have a better rifle for it. Up here we are limited to 5 round clips (as this some how makes people in cities safer???) if you want to stay legal, so my .308 is bolt action. For some reason I shoot more accuratly with the bolt than the semi auto .223.
I recently tried out a .17 for shooting magpies, starlings the like. That is a fun little popgun, but all the ammo I have found is stupid expensive, so I have not purchased it yet. Once the price of ammo drops I will buy it in a heart beat.

You can't go wrong with the Hasbro Longstriker CS-6. It'll run ya about $35.
The advantage here is you can actually shoot it at somebody without getting in trouble. Usually.
