  • 12GA is pretty similar. You should be able to get a perfectly useful model for under $400. Mossbergs have been around forever. My family used a .410 mossberg for 25 years without cleaning it and it still worked fine. I finally broke it down and there was hay and dead bugs and some goo that was probably the factory grease up in there, and the bore was 1/2 inch narrower with residue, but it still worked fine.

Otherwise, the Remington 870 is probably the most trusted and common 12GA out there, and is also available for under $400.

I'll probably be picking up a 12GA next, and will probably end up with this:
    Remington 887 NITROMAG

If the KSG still isn't readily available:

I am still considering the stockless mossberg 500 series:
But we tried one out during our last gun retreat, and without the hand strap on the fore end, every one of us had the gun kick out of our front hand. So I held it like a pistol and fired it a couple times. Worked better, but you'll look ridiculous shooting someone.

    • What the fuck do you intend to use these weapons for anyway? Never seen someone so confused they were picking between a .22 and 12GA.

I kid you not, I saw a tweet from a Tennessee paper that read: "Kingsport man discovers shooting bull with .22 only makes a bull mad." Or something like that.

Slap a $20 holosight on top, and you're good to go. They run about $350. It's the one on the bottom in this pic and is modeled to look just like the .223, which is pictured above it:

There's no reason you should spend more than $400 on a .22 rifle. If you want to look like you play modern warfare a lot, you can get a gsg for about the same price with the fake suppressor:

Otherwise there's a shitload of wooden stock rifles and AR/AK platform copies. They're all very simple operation, so unless you buy a total piece of shit from the homeless guy in your back yard, they're pretty reliable. Personally, I would recommend starting with a Marlin with a tube for less than $200: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id/41693

Here's a sample of whats out there: http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/a...=&pto=&x=0&y=0
Other than calling me a bitch this is some good info . Thanks.

So the 223 is the longer 22 size bullets right? Whats that bitch run? Is that one yours? BTW I dont want anything with much plastic. Your wife's has a plastic clip? Are those better?

BTW Those marlins look like they are garbage. I dont need some beginner shit. I dont know much about weapons but I have always been a good shot.

So you have ordered shit from this website?

I figured the gauge will be about 400-500. I just want to make sure to get a quality one. I like the look of the KSG. What will that cost? Mossberg is the name brand I would like but not if something equal price is better quality. I would prefer something that handles well though.

            • Making a 22 look like an assault rifle is asking for trouble. Skins recommendations on 12Gs are spot on. I've killed 1000s of geese and ducks over the years with a $200 Mossberg I bought from a drunk fisherman.

I plan to purchase one of each actually. I really dont plan on using them other than some target practice. I just want to start a collection of dependable, legitimate arms. Are fully automatics allowed in WI? Not in Cali (are they easy to modify?). The .22 will also be used as an introductory weapon for someone. They look fun though and having cheap ammo doesn't hurt.

Why is that fucker? Probably can get a fully AK or AR15 on the dirty but that's not what I'm looking for. Would you recommend something a step up but in that same style?

I am happy to hear Mossberg is a good one. Never owned one but they seem nice. I will be getting a new one so what model you recommend?

Asshole I just asked you about the shotguns. For the 22 Im looking for something that can handle popping off alot of rounds. Someday it might accidentally get dropped and become fullyauto so I want to make sure it can handle it. So the 22 rimfire style rifles are no different than a 22 regular rifle? That shit is all looks and doesnt actually make the gun stay cooler and handle better?

                      • Mad,

Remington 870 for personal defense. Don't go with that gay pistol grip bull-shit unless it's part of a Knox-Stock or it's equivalent.

If you think it "looks cool" that's like a warning sign. You want the mfer to go "boom" when you pull the trigger. And that's what the 870 will do. Load that sumbitch up with 00 Buck or 1 oz slug and you are in business, if you get your rounds on target, that target is going down.

If you like you can get all the gun-queer shit to make it "look cool", just remember, the 870 is a piece of battle-tested weaponry that doesn't want to look gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Listen, you get skilled with that fucker, shooting from awkward positions, get your combat reloads down, get your rounds in the five ring, you will be a sexy mother-fucker and no-one will worry if the gun looks like some 'roid queen homo out of GQ.

Semi-auto .22 as an intro gun? Fuck that. Get a single-shot bolt action. That is an introductory weapon. Take a shot. Reload. Take a shot. Reload. Take a shot. Reload. This will force the shooter to focus on what they are doing, focus on their basics, on their shooting mechanics, not blow through a shit-load of rounds like a 14 year-old boy jerking off to his first "Penthouse Letters" and not learning a damn thing.

                        Trust me, brudda'.

                        • Interesting take George. I expected you to be White and a gun nut. Solid sounding advice and I like your point about the reloading.

Are these the pistols grips you are referring to?

                          I agree, they are cool.

But the 870 is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you. Remington is a brand I have fired. Nothing but good times.

I might go with this though. And yes it looks cool so fuck you!

But the classic look is nice too.

Do the specs on this one mean shit?

                          • Both Mossberg and Remington make good inexpensive pump shotguns....the 500 series and 870 are both around $400. A fucking steal really.

Actually, I'm a Twinkie. Half white, half Korean. Born and raised in WI, don't speak a lick of Korean but I loves me some KimChee and Bulgogi.

Not a gun nut, just tools of the trade.

Something like that Predator stock, or maybe this:

The whole point of changing the stock is to control recoil and more user friendly body mechanics. The old rifle stocks are a little funky in that way.

My friend, there is nothing gay about that Marine Magnum. That is a fine piece of weaponry that looks bad-ass.

No complaints on the old Wingmaster, either; just keep in mind it's a bird hunting gun.

That Express Tactical, like the Marine Magnum, is all about business. I would go that route if it was my coin. The Ghost Ring and front blade sight will help you get on target faster. The ported tube will help you control recoil (helpful, even for a big guy such as yourself). Seven rounds plus four in your side-saddle means you are ready for a real dog-fight. If you can't handle business with that much 00 and Slug, you are in deep shit, cause you are in fucking Kandahar province. (Or you're a real shitty shot.)
