Canadian defense is really tough. Hard to get any shots through. I have a Jonathan Toews Blackhawk jersey and now I have to cheer against him. Need Patrick Kane to even things up.

4 on 4 always favors the team with the most offensive talent, and that was Canada. In the end, the best player on the ice got the winning goal. As a Blackhawks fan, I was glad to see Patrick Kane have a good game. He's the guy I was hoping might get a breakaway situation in the overtime. He's an awesome talent who hasn't quite reached his potential yet. Hopefully the NHL will send their players to the Olympics in 4 years. U.S.A. hockey is turning out some impressive talent.I can't run no more

But they've summoned, they've summoned up

The "underdog" image put forth by the media for the US team was simply wrong, in my opinion. The US team got exactly where I expected - 2nd. This was a team filled with young players who already have 2, 3 and 4 years of NHL experience simply because they are among the best players in the world. Most have had success in the world juniors tournaments and other international competitions in the recent past. Older, more experienced American players were left home, because they weren't as good as those selected. More importantly, it was put together as a team, with a mind toward role players who would complete four lines as you would want to play with all season under international rules. The US had the second best roster there. They should have been in this game.Originally posted by digitaldeanWell, so much for that.
I know the US team went farther than was expected, but we just didn't do it defensively in the OT. Too much time in our own end.
Canada's advantage was primarily in fire-power across four forward lines, and maybe consistency defensively from their defencemen. I might have given them the edge in the net before the tournament, but Miller was very, very solid.
You get to the end, and you expect a play from the likes of Crosby or Parise. Parise got his at the end of regulation to tie it, Crosby made his in overtime to win.

Because it sells advertising time for NBC? (or ABC, or whoever has the broadcast rights at the time)Originally posted by MJZiggyWhy in blazes can't they just thank everyone for coming and close the damn games without making a 3-hour production out of it?
