  • Where should the mrs and I go on vacation for a week?

I have access to my family's timeshare this year. We can go to any RCI resort. We have one weeks worth of points available.

The GF and I are thinking about going somewhere towards the latter part of August. I don't know what's cool, but I'm guessing those of you with more life experience do.

We're pretty active people, so we would like to do more activities versus relaxing by a pool having drinks. I would say these activities tend to be more towards the museum/site seeing/going to shows side of things versus hiking or bike riding, etc.

We're pretty tight on cash right now, so ideally it's someplace that has relatively inexpensive flights from MKE/CHI.

Last summer we went to Texas, so most other of the contiguous states are fair game (with a few obvious exceptions being those really close in proximity to WI such as Ill, MI, MN, IA).

All suggestions appreciated. Two places that we've kicked around were NC and the northwest WA/OR area.

    Thanks!

I'd suggest Ocean Shores, WA or Port Townsend, WA....Cheesey can give you the details.

I would suggest Maine or Oregon.

Please provide reasons for your answers so I can formulate a compelling argument as to why this is a good idea. Thanks!

Bump. Going the last week of August. Is there a nice play in the Caribbean that isn't outrageously hot at the end of August?

The Caribbean is surrounded by water. It doesn't get outrageously hot until you get a little inland. Pick an island and go. Try St. Kitts or Nevis or something even though they're Atlantic.

How about the Carolina coast...? I've always wanted to explore the Grand Banks.

They got time shares on Uranus?

Now I know of the people that actually buy time shares. Brutal.

Oh, I forgot. Check with the Red Cross before you go and make sure you're not going to be in any malaria zones. Mike can't donate blood for either six months or a year because we took a cruise that stopped on Roadan.

Come to central Cali and we will get lit and go to Yosemite. The waterfalls are badass right now. People are even dying to see them.

Sadly Yosemite has turned into a cluster.
