Are you running Windows 7? Get Microsoft Security Essentials...free from MS. AVG has always worked great...so has the spyware bot stuff.

The main thing is stop doing stupid shit on the computer.

Oh fuck. Now I have this Vista Security 2012 shit. Security Essentials did not protect me and now I feel dirty. The shit even stops you from using your internet browsers. guess I have to use safe mode or something. What a pain in the ass. And yes, I got it from a pron site.

My MacBook Pro is virus free, but that's just because I use protection

Had to do a registry update to be able to use my exe files. Then rkill to stop the processes. The malwarebyte to get rid of it. I'm so going right back to that site as soon as it's finished.

MS Security Essentials works fairly well, so it is worth having. Are you guys using IE? That thing is a virus/worm magnet. Firefox is much better, although it gets bogged down by some scripts at times. Chrome works well, and both FF and Chrome have ad blocking plugins.

The final key is your own brains. Turn off the "Hide known extensions" option from your file browser so you don't get burned by a .jpg.exe or similar hack. Don't just blindly click OK when a program asks you for access. When checking e-mail, don't click on the links unless you are sure the e-mail is real. Even if it seems to come from a friend, it still could be a fake message. If you hover over the link and the address that shows up there does not match what they are claiming, it's a fake.

Good advice MS. I would also set your porn browser to never save anything. Firefox seems to hold up well if you locked that bitch down.

But 007 really should get a fresh install. She might also tell her son to quit using her PC to look at nasty shit.

You got it set to not save the cache? But really how do you not have a XxxBox set up so you don't use your main PC?

I use one computer for porn and torrents only.....once I've downloaded something and it passes muster I might transfer it to another computer. It has an HDMI port so I normally just hook to an HDTV and run with it.

You should do webinars on how to avoid these issues. You could call it "How to get off without being jacked".
