The USA is going to hell in a handbasket

It's all bureaucratic BS. They are trying to please everyone. The reality is, no matter what you do, not everyone will happy.
I personally am against it because they don't enforce they laws on the books now so adding more will make it harder to enforce. Also, it is very expensive for someone from Mexico to get a Visa to travel here. A lot more then $5,000. The countries with the least illegal immigration problems enforce their laws, build fences and keep people out. For all of the bitching that the Mexican government does, they have very strict laws preventing us from moving in there and they enforce them."Once the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the Republic.”

I like the idea that they're planning to put up a three foot fence. I know how we could save some bucks on the construction - how about gathering up a bunch of old hurdles from high schools and lining them up on the border. We could make it REALLY difficult to get in if we oriented them so that they wouldn't tip entering the US. Anyone who COULD jump over could get a Presidential physical fitness award along with their 'tamper-proof' card.

By the way, what is the meaning of the term "hell in a handbasket?" Has anyone ever seen a handbasket?I can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

This phrase, meaning "to deteriorate rapidly", originated in the
U.S. in the early 20th century. A handbasket is just a basket with
a handle. Something carried in a handbasket goes wherever it's going
without much resistance.
James L. Rader of Merriam-Webster Editorial Dept. writes: "The
Dictionary of American Regional English [...] records 'to go to
heaven in a handbasket' much earlier than [...] 'hell,' which is not
attested before the 1950s. The earliest cite in our files is from
1949 [...]. 'In a handbasket' seems to imply ease and and speed
[...]. Perhaps part of the success of these phrases must simply be
ascribed to the force of alliteration. DARE has a much earlier
citation for another alliterative collocation with 'handbasket'
(1714), from Samuel Sewall's diary: 'A committee brought in
something about Piscataqua. Govr said he would give his head in a
Handbasket as soon as he would pass it.' I suspect that 'to go to
hell in a handbasket' has been around much longer than our records
would seem to indicate.""Greatness is not an act... but a habit.Greatness is not an act... but a habit." -Greg Jennings

Yes its's gross as hell, but I have to laugh my ass off at the thought of all these artsy and aggressively "tolerant" folks at Cannes choking on their popcorn and squirming in their seats as they watch this crap. I'm disappointed that there were no "explicit" scenes for them to enjoy.Originally posted by Kiwon"The USA is going to hell..."
