Democracy speaks Nick. I am the 10th person to post a response to this poll and the tally is now 9 against and 1 for. At this point the tally including those who voted but didn't post is 5 for and 19 against. The people have spoken.

Tex used the same reasoning on JSO and CE, "Not enough people get to read my thoughts on the political Forum, so I must be able to post OT, so my word can get across to the masses."

Some of us come on here for escape from the real world. If I wanted to discuss politics, I'd go to a different forum. Here we have the best of both worlds. Two clicks and we can move from football discussion to whatever we want to discuss. PR has only been around for about 3 months, Romper Room will continue to grow as more new people join and become aware of its existence. My guess is right now it doesn't get as much traffic because most people prefer to talk football.

I've mentioned before that I still go to JSO because I enjoy talking Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. Using your thinking I should be able to post OT about those teams because I want more to read my posts. Again, the people have spoken.
Doughnuts, is there anything they can't do?

Let me chime in, because I feel like I post OT stuff most of the time here anyway. I like NFL and Packer talk, but there's really not much to chat about these days. Come preseason and regular season, sure. But right now? Not so much.

In the Romper Room, I started threads about CDs, song lyrics, movies, etc. I don't want Packer fans having to deal with that crap if they don't want to. I'm happy there's a forum JUST for those people that want to diverge from typical Packer chat and toss around non-football thoughts with PR posters.

I like this structure and think it works far better than JSO. Even Packerchatters has their forums strictly deliniated.

This is a Packer site first and foremost. It will attract Packer fans that want to chat about Packer topics first and foremost. If a fan wants to chat about something else, then can exit the Packer Room and go into the Romper Room. That's reasonable to me. I do it all the time and enjoy having a place away from the Packer fray to chat.

I understand the vote...It makes sense...

I like the structure of free speaking. A guy can call a guy out and it can not be moved. I udnerstand how most people don't want that and the vote has spoken.

I really loved how on JS you could let the regulars have it. AP would sit in there little home and stew about how the threads didn's suit thier liking. I loved that. I loved that equal footing. I loved how a person could make a point without being moderated. I'm a little bit of a fan of kaos. What can I say, I don't like authority.

I understand the intetions of this place. Like usual, I am in the minority. I've never been much of a social guy. Main stream isn't in my dictionary. It sucks swimming up stream all the time but my mind doesn't allow me otherwise.

I'll probably still post from time to time. Maybe I'll never find a place like JS *before the hacker* but damn it I'm gonna try. Nothing against anyone. I loved the regs. Talk about good moral people. AP had great intentions and so do most people. I just think sometimes people overlook things and social sitiations tend to turn to power struggles. It is just part of the way things work. Once this group got the power of a private forum it's just starting to not suite my liking....

Will I find better? I don't know. I kind of liked having socialites around like Michele and Bretsky because I kind of liked to antagonize . Well, That has been taken. My ability to fuck around is gone. I have been clipped. Sure, I'm a bit of a pain in the ass but I never hurt people. Ah well...I feel defeted.

Well...here's to trying to move on...I can't say its gonna work because as much as I like to throw a wrench in the system, I can't do it without a system to throw it in. I know I'm not the only guy who enjoyed the kaos, but I know we're pretty frustrating and it probably feels great to have this chacne to shut us up....

Me, Mobb, H.H. *whether he knows it or not* and a bunch of others are just going to have to do something else with our spare time. The only place I'm willing to spend this type of time on is a Packer forum. There arn't too many who fit the *free and hackerless* category so my days as an internet junkie look numbered.......

It is a sad day...I'll probably come back fighting becasue damn it I'm persistant.

Nick, I hope you stick around here. yes, I truly mean that. Otherwise, besides bulldog, I don't have anyone to give a hard time to

If anything, perhaps what you've done here is draw more attention to the Romper Room and more people will look at it.

Off the subject, I get home just now and find a damn tree down in my yard. We are having like a mini hurricane here in GB today.

nobody is taking anything away from you. you've got this victim mentality. the masses have spoken. why not let their vote count. i don't get it. everyone has a voice, everyone can speak freely, but everything must be orderly because that is how people like it and your two polls have shown that.

I still don't understand who's trying to shut you up? Who is this mystical force of which you speak? The Romper Room has its place. Frankly, I usually check the RR in the morning before I get into the Packer forum. I have met first-time posters in the RR who I can only assume posted there to see what kind of reception they'd get before jumping into the deeper waters. I often go into the RR and find people in there reading that you wouldn't normally predict would be there. And, quite frankly, it's just not that hard to get to. Besides, if you post something OT in the Packer forum, it still gets seen, and once it's seen, it gets moved. People still know where to find it and if they have anything to say, it's a whole lot easier to look on page one or two of the RR than to dig to page 12 of the Packer forum. That's what I hated about JSO. If there was an OT topic that I wanted to follow, I'd have to dig and dig to find it. Here, it's just not as hard.

To me it's more a matter of being organized. The Packer's section, is front page because this a Packer forum and it does get pretty congested with Packer threads during the season. I read this OT stuff too though so it's more organized this way and it's easier to find threads. I think it ought to be called "The Rats Nest" or something other than "Romper Room" though.
                      Thanks Ted!

I guess I just like when a guy can stick a dirty diaper under everyones noses....Mobb used to put race thread right where everyone had to see it. It was a political stance and I kind of enjoyed it.

I understand everyones will to make this place organized and proper. Also, I understand the attempt to please the majority. Most don't wnat to read about race issues and so on but I liked how a guy could force feed it. It really gave power to the minority thinker. It's kind of an attmpt at Plutonic Packer talk but I just think when you start to search for perfection, you are can't help but rob some of the natural flow of a social atmoshphere. I'm a purist in that way I guess. I like the bad with the good. Hell, I don't even know what good or bad is so I just like it all.

It's all good though...Everyone means well and I'm capable of seeing that.

Course I'm new here, but with the Packer news slow this week, as Jacks Revenge said, I find myself checking the RR 1st. Plus I am getting great ideas for books, movies, tunes, ect.... Easy to find topics, I say leave it the way it is set up.
