    JAVON FOUND UNCONSCIOUS IN VEGAS

Posted by Mike Florio on June 16, 2008, 8:19 p.m.
As rumor has it, Raiders owner Al Davis thinks that receiver Javon Walker is the key to the team’s 2008 season.

If that’s the case, it might be time to start making plans for the first overall pick in the 2009 draft.

Walker, who has a bad knee that traces to a torn ACL in 2005, was found unconscious on a Las Vegas street on Monday morning, according to FOX 5.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, and is in fair condition with a fracture to an orbital bone.

Per media reports, Walker was seen on Saturday night spraying the crowd at Tryst night club with some of the 15 bottles of Dom Perignon champagne he had ordered.

Gee, what a shame for the Raiders. If they didn't give Javon so much money maybe he wouldn't have popped for the champagne. At least he is alive, which is more than can be said about his buddy that he was partying with in Denver a couple of years ago.

He's hurting in lots of ways, but it is hard to feel sorry for him when it is his own lousy decisions that lead to the problems.

I never thought I'd hear TT and genius in the same sentence out of you unless it was coated with thick, unmistakable sarcasm Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person though. Sheesh, if having a friend die in your arms during a night club incident isn't enough to keep you out of night clubs then you really do deserve a broken orbital bone.

Wow, people. What's up with the hate for Javon? He was never disrespectful to the fans or the city of GB. He's generally a nice guy, if a bit immature. He does have a lot to learn I thought the decision to trade him was in the best interests of both parties, and I wished Javon well with the Broncs. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out for a variety of reasons.

Javon has made some poor decisions, but we don't even know the details of this incident. To be glad that he's been injured...there's absolutely no cause for that. I understand that many of you don't respect Javon because of the holdout, and some of you think he makes thoughtless comments. But he's not an a-hole. He's not a criminal. Relishing the injury is not called for.

When your own friend dies in your hands, don't you think he would learn not to show up and make a big scene by basically "making it rain" with expensive champagne??? Last time I checked your not supposed to put yourself in a bad situation, and obviously Javon does that over and over...

I don't hate Javon, I'm just saying... Doesn't this guy learn? Don't be flashy especially when you have a lot of enemies... You are an NFL player after all, and there is a target on your back more often then the average person...

He may not generally be a nice guy, and he may be an a-hole, I personally have never met him. Otherwise I agree 100% with your take on the situation FavreChild.

I don't hate the guy either. Hell, I wish him the best in all he does but with his money and his status he really should know that these night club situations have higher than normal odds of getting into real trouble (not exluding death by gun or knife wound). If there is one guy in the NFL that should know better, it's him. He still goes, so he deserves whatever comes his way. It's the same as drug dealers being shot. It comes with the territory. Maybe he wants to just be a normal guy without a target on his back, but he's not and he doesn't learn. Wake up, idiot.

Found this small tidbit.... he's in fair condition.

Walker was found to have an orbital fracture and was listed in fair condition this afternoon. It is not clear how he got the fracture.
