I've been here for 15 years, and I feel as safe as in Bonduel wisconsin. I don't go to rough areas, but I would think even our rough areas are safer than NY or LA's rough areas.

I don't want to speculate what Jwalk was doing down there, I simply know not many people walk around in that area.

The only time I truly felt safe is when I would take a trip to visit my buddy Pyro Pete in Summerlin.

Heh, summerlin...well, I actually live a tad south of summerlin, but the entire west side of vegas is safe, and 90% of the east side. Some spots near downtown, north las vegas, and some of the areas just east of the strip (like where JWalk was found) are seedy and not real great, but the rest of the city is solid.

I agree. North Town is going to be really hard to clean up though. It's a trip though. You have drug addicted prostitutes, gang bangers, and Mexican Cowboys riding their horses to the store to get beer....all on the same street.

I still remember the referendum the put out in local elections 3-4 years ago raising property taxes like $3 a house so the city could afford more police patrols. I didn't vote, but my cousin voted against it. . . when I asked why ...I swear... dude says... "Ey fool, I don't want more PO'PO's on the streets."

My cousin isn't that smart, but I guess as much as he drinks..I guess I can see his point of view.

Hey Mission, I wasn't call you out at all! I was just interested, because in another post, you said your name was Tony. I am an avid Packer Rat, so I read almost every post made here.

To the surprise of no one (save for the 10 percent of folks who responded to our current poll in the affirmative), Raiders receiver Javon Walker’s version of the events culminating in the taking of an involuntary nap on a Las Vegas street has been contradicted by surveillance video.

According to Norm Clarke of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, police have video of Walker getting into a car under his own power, and that he is not being coerced.

Walker was found at 7:30 a.m. local time, unconscious in a pool of blood. He had left the Body English night club at 3:00 a.m. after a night of spraying champagne (and, presumably, drinking hose water).
