Tarvaris Jackson has played extremely well at training camp over the last 10 days, but on Tuesday morning it was the defense thatmade its presence known in a big way.
- At this time last year, Tarvaris Jackson couldn’t do anything against the first team defense. Literally. The defense absolutely flustered Jackson to no end at training camp in 2007. This year is a different story, although on Tuesday Jackson probably felt a slight flashback.
He doesn't attempt to run. Wasn't a running QB in college either. Don't see the comparison.
Both are black...so that makes them identical.
That's a really common thing to do Ty. Like people comparing Jordy Nelson to Jurevicius. McCaffrey or even Schroeder. People compared Jones to Sharpe rather than a strong white receiver.

The point i was making was about black and the traditional athletic/quick/scrambling black qb. Tjack isn't anywhere near vick....neither is leftwich, etc.
White guys do get put in that craft possession spot as well. No doubt. Jordy isn't slow like JJ or Easy Ed..he is fast. Better comparison would be Doug Donnely..though bigger.
It seems like they had a good practice tonight. Wells, Grant, Harris, Jolly, and Coston were back in pads again. Ruvell and Wynn are still out after being injured on Monday though.
Here were the two most relevant quotes from GBPG:
Defensive players continue to make plays on the ball during team drills.
............
Aaron Rodgers is putting on a clinic for pinpoint passing.
Joey Porter, Tramon, Bush, and Tracey White successfully blocked on target passes from Brohm and Rodgers. Other notes are that Moll looked good, Coston looked horrible, and Antonio Freeman came by to watch.

How can the defense shine when Rodgers is putting in pinpoint passes all the time? Wouldn't that eat them alive?
Practice ended at 9:03 p.m. In his address to the media afterward, coach Mike McCarthy said that linebacker A.J. Hawk will be out for the rest of the week with a chest injury he suffered in the preseason game against the Bengals.
............
McCarthy said quarterback Matt Flynn has closed the gap on Brian Brohm for the No. 2 job, although the number of reps each quarterback takes in practice will not change. McCarthy did indicate that Flynn has a chance to beat out Brohm for the backup quarterback job.
Receiver Ruvell Martin suffered a jaw contusion and mild concussion and his status remains up in the air. Running back DeShawn Wynn is suffering from a sprained ankle and his status for Saturday's game is also uncertain.

If Rodgers sees a guy in single coverage that's where his pass will go. He can throw a good ball but still have it blocked by the defender. It's then the receivers job to come down with the ball.

Gotta love training camp. Everybody is a star. I gotta say though, the Packers beat writers are usually pretty good at spotting the rising studs--Mike "Deion" Hawkins notwithstanding.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson
Injury/participation update
