    • The numbers are kind of what I expected. They've thrown a similar number of passes. Favre has completed 15 more balls. Part of that, I think, is experience. Favre is a master at reading defenses and he knows where the ball should go. Rodgers has 120 more yards. Brett's been a dinker and dunker most of the year. Favre has thrown 3 more TDs. Rodgers has thrown 5 less interceptions. Not surprising. Kind of the m.o. on these guys. Favre has taken 2 less sacks and has fumbled 2 more times. Pretty similar. No dispelling the fact that Favre is a leader and may have won a couple of those close games for the Pack. Then again, he's a risk taker and may have cost us a game or two. Who knows. The Jets have two more wins, but they've played a very weak schedule. Their out of division games have been against San Diego, Arizona, Cincinnati, Oakland, Kansas City, and St. Louis. That whole division has fed off playing the weakest division in each conference. Green Bay has played Dallas (with Tony Romo), Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Seattle, Indianapolis, and Tennessee.
"There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. But quite frankly, most of the people that are commenting on it don't know anything about what they are talking about."--Ted Thompson

Root for the Packers to fail to make TT look bad? L.F.
Root for Favre to fail miserably, by extension causing the draft pick to be less than it could be...and/or root that he gets injured? L.F.

To say "half the fan base" is rooting for them to fail is ridiculous and sounds like a L.F. type remark itself, not mention whiney and girlish - no offense to the lovely Packer Rat gals of course.

My addition to the Lunatic Fringe....

Those that insist if you are a person that still follows Favre's career and wishes him well, you CANNOT be a Packer fan. BS!

Well put, I got an asshole here in town who says I am not a Packer fan and am a traitor and he has never even been to a Packer game. I have been to 22 games in 12 years have thousands of dollars in Packers treasures and all I own in Jets gear is one #4 jersey. I want Brett to do well and I want Rodgers to do well. What the hell is wrong with that?

Nothing at all. It's when people start with the comparisons that it goes beyond just supporting both. "Favre is the greatest QB ever, and Rodgers is a goat. Rodgers will never win a championship, nor will the Packers as long as TT is the GM and Rodgers is the QB." "Brett would never make that mistake, Brett would never cost his team the game, Brett never shits the bed like Aaron does..." It's comments like those, from some people who claim to be supportive of both but in actuality are less a fan of both than they'd like to believe, that get me going. I have no problem with supporting both QB's and both teams - the better they both do, the better shape the Packers in particular will be in. But enough of the "Well Brett could do it" and the "Brett is still the better QB" crap. If you look at my posts, as well as a number of other posters that share the same feelings on this issue as I do, you'll see that most of us only chime in when Brett's success is rubbed in our faces and the face of the Packers organization.

I am not in any way singling you out in this post. I would hope that everybody reads this, and puts the message of this post to work in their own posts.

                • question though; why if someone post that favre still has it and tt was dumb to not bring him back do peolpe here take that personally???? it has NUTHN to do with anyone here actually...its a PUBLIC FORUM!

just b/c someone believes one thing is NO reason to get upset. i like brett more than pack brass but if tt does well and its pointed out to me i dont get mad, i keep it moving and enjoy pack PLAYERS' success

to me its about perspective. neither brett nor the pack will change my life (and, more importantly, the lives of my loved ones) one iota. its mererly ENTERTAINMENT

seriously, someone PLEASE xplain to me why folk get mad about OPINIONS on this forum. if its something that hits home or has REAL relevance in this country (like social policy or race relations) thats different imho

but "bretts better than aaron and aaron doesnt have 'it' plus tt ruined pack chemistry from last year" actually hurts someone's feelings or is considered a travestry??

if pack were undefeated and brett/jets were doing bad i would still enjoy the season and wouldnt get mad if a poster said she/he was happy that tt let favre go

only a bunch of emotional girls allow sports posts/OPINIONS anger them.......j/k

Mostly because people feel strongly about sports if they are willing to come to a message board to discuss it. Fan is short for fanatic.

And these so called opinions are never stated as opinion, they are stated as clear fact and dared to be challenged. I used to enjoy coming here to read thoughtful insightful information about the team I am fanatical about and thats been taken away from me by this heaping pile of bullshit. Should I just let it go and find somewhere else to read or should I try and steer this place back to what it one was?

You'd be hard pressed to find me bashing him....well unless you go back to some game threads from the last couple years. I cannot be held responsible for my actions during a game. I've often said he was the best thing to happen to the Packers in my lifetime, but he really screwed the pooch this past offseason and the constant will he/wont he wore on my nerves. Every time I turned on ESPN, there he was. I like to feel way more exclusive in my fandom. I like my small market Packers.

I dont feel personally slighted by anyone on an internet forum. I know everyone here would be a pussycat in RL. It's fun to hit the bee's nest with a stick sometimes tho.

Amen. It gets frustrating trying to separate the signal from all of the noise.

Gunakor's post was excellent as well.

But the comparisons keep going on Mobb, and you are every bit as responsible for that as others. Just stop already. We have heard the same story over and over and over again. It's getting sickening. You don't see me starting threads after Rodgers has a good game saying "Look, see, TT made the right decision! Rodgers is going to be the next great QB in the history of the Packers!" I don't want to make those comparisons, because I understand the difference between the two. Everybody here does. So just shut up about it already. It's not about me taking it personally, it's about having to read it every time Brett has a good game or the Jets win.

The negative comparisons need to end. If you are going to continue to slight the Green Bay Packers over THIS particular decision - something that's been rehashed over and over and over again already - I am going to continue to call you out on it. If you have a problem with a decision that hasn't been rehashed a thousand times already, by all means go ahead and post it. But this one has been covered in it's entirety already. If you let it go, others might do the same. So why don't you try that, okay?
