Great post.Originally posted by ZoolI'm fine with a single, or even double clapping, but the gigantic douchebaggery that goes along with the 25 hands clapping needs to be stopped.
It doesnt say " I really agree" it says "Look at me!!!! I'm expressing my opinion!!!"
I can't run no more
With that lawless crowd
While the killers in high places
Say their prayers out loud
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
A thundercloud
They're going to hear from me - Leonard Cohen

Rodgers was asked, and he said he had not heard from Favre.Originally posted by PuggerBut seriously, how do we know Brett didn't call/text Rodgers after he hurt his shoulder?? If neither guy tells anybody or especially the media, no one will know besides the two parties involved.

To try and maintain some objectivity, there were differences in the Romo and Rodgers situations the first few days after their injuries.
With Romo, it was announced the next day that he would be out 4 weeks. Didn't look like he was considering playing at all. The team announced immediately that Johnson would be the starter, and Johnson even did a press conference about it.
With Rodgers it was announced that they would take a wait and see attitude. Looked clearly like he would play if he could, a decision to come at game time. No comment or encouragement from anyone would change that.

I think Madtown hit the nail on the head in the beginning of this thread....
I think after everything that went on prior to this season starting Favre is probably thinking it's best not to contact anyone from the Packers. It's sad the way he's viewed by some, but just look at the reaction from some on this forum, when someone,...............OMG!!!!!....posts something positive about Favre.how do you think it would have went over if he had called ARod and told him to quit being a wuss and suck it up (pretty much what he told Romo)?? I think you would be crying about how he needed to mind his own business.

I don't care that he called Romo. I don't care that he didn't call Rodgers. As I posted earlier, there were differences in the situations of each, Rodgers immediately looking like he would play if he could and Romo immediately declared out for four weeks.
I think the fact that Favre found it necessary to tell a reporter about his conversation with Romo proves yet again just how deeply he craves media attention. Of course we all knew that from the 5 year fiasco of his retirement decisions, which I criticized for several years while he was still a Packer.
I still enjoy watching him play. I would have enjoyed watching him play for another year as a Packer. His media persona, created as much by him as by the media, I have found to be very tiring for at least the last three years. I don't miss that being attached to the Packer season at all. The Packers are again seen as a team, and not as Favre and a bunch of other guys.
