This game will be the true test. Sure, the Saints will try to run it as much as they can, but the game will still be won or lost on Drew Brees' arm.
I agree that Drew Brees is a remarkably accurate passing quarterback. Heck, I can still remember how he gave the Badgers' defense fits when he played for Purdue in college.
The Packers' pass rush is pitiful. If they cannot put any measure of a pass rush against Brees, he will just stand in the pocket and pick apart the secondary with his passing, IMO.

Those games lasted like 4 hours because Brees passed every down and the Badgers sat back and gave him short completions. Then Fletcher would pick him off for 6 late in the 4th and it was over.

I tend to be slightly pessimistic when it comes to games, so I share your fear. There's nothing more agravating when watching a football game, in my opinion, then watching the opposing QB drop back and have all year to stand around and look for someone. I hate that. And if the Pack can't generate a rush, it's going to be awful. Kampman does not seem to be having the year he did last year, and he's hurt, I see, but I hope he can lift this team up tonight. I also hope that one or two of the interior linemen can elevate his game and give the team a huge push up the mioddle so Brees can't scan the field so easily. Justin Harrell, is it time for you to step up your game, buddy?
"The Devine era is actually worse than you remember if you go back and look at it."

I don't think Kampman is hurt. Rather, he has been constantly double teamed since Cullen went down. Kampman has the moves to beat any one DT in the league, but isn't the kind of brawler that throws two OL's to the ground while chasing down the QB.
Harrel doesn't really have to step his game up for his return to make a substantial improvement to our defense. Against the Vikings, Pickett, Cole and Jolly were each playing for 50-60 reps, and you could tell that they were too exhausted to stop a fly by the end of the game. Add Harrell, and they each got 30 some reps in the chicago game. That let them apply consistent pressure and stalwart run D in the second half. Having Harrell around as an extra body might be enough so that our Run D stops embarrassing us.
Man, coming to this forum really pisses me off sometimes.
Its gameday for the Packers and like 6/7 of the first few threads are either 1. About Favre.
2. About the Jets.
3. About the AFC East.
Just one look at the thread starter for those and you will see why.
Yeah its why I mostly just stay in the romper room, I like to come here to talk about the Packers, not the Jets, not Favre. The Packers. Seems like its too hard to ask.

We all love to root for Kampman, but he is NOT being double-teamed. The last double-team I saw him near was inadvertent, when he made his way into the middle of a screen.
He occasionally gets chipped by backs or TEs, but he is getting home far less often. He is hurt by the lack of an effective KGB, as Kabeer would force QBs to step up, which changes the angle Kampman would have on his blocker. Jenkins this year WAS getting close, but even then AK wasn't picking up the pieces. I think his level of pass rush ability is enough to make a team (or O lineman) pay for a mistake, otherwise he has been blockable since Game 9 or 10 last year.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
Not sure why but Im not feeling this game for some reason. I know NO is banged up but they need a win badly and this game might be their season. With MN and CHI winning yesterday the same could be said about the Packers but this game just feels wrong. Thinking we see a shoot out.

Did you need a break from PR? Havn't seen you posting much.
I sort of agree with you. This is a huge game. We need it badly. I don't get a great feeling though. Every time things look good this team sinks and every time it looks bad they rise. This season has 8-8 written all over it, but I hope they come out tonight and change that outlook with a big statement game on the ROAD for a change.

Both teams have their backs against the wall so it's going to be a battle royal. Whichever team shows they want it more by hitting the hardest is going to win. GB must run the ball and stop the run. If they can do that Rodgers is going to have time to find wide open receivers and Brees is going to turn it over.
