  • Parsons and Garrett trades compared.

I thought it might be interesting to compare these two trades:

Packers got Parson's at age 26, going into his 5th season.
Dallas got: 2026 & 2027 1st Rd draft picks and Kenny Clark, age 29 entering 10th season, a two-time pro bowler.

Rams got Garrett at age 30, going into his 10th season
    Browns got: 2027 1st, 2028 2nd and 2029 3rd round picks, plus Jared Verse, age 25, entering his 3rd season, a two-time Pro Bowler and 2024 DRoY.

Patler did you lose wifi mid-post?
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

      My initial thoughts:

      - At the time of the trade, Parsons was still an ascending player with many prime years. remaining.
      - Garrett was absolutely outstanding in 2025, BUT at age 30 has few prime years remaining. He is certainly closer to the end of his career than to the start of it.
      - Verse is a young ascending player who has barely started his career, but has made a strong impact already.
      - Clark is a steady vet, but with a lot of mileage.
      - The draft pick compensations, consecutive years 1st rounds vs. consecutive years 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks aren't a lot different.

When you look at where the four players involved are at in their careers, I think the Browns did quite well compared to the Cowboys.

I was hoping to get the edited post entered before anyone noticed! Hopefully, it makes sense now.

( I "tabbed" a couple times like I did on the old board, which would automatically indent, and the partial message posted before i realized what happened!)
