Zach Tom is no longer Zach Tom. He legally changed his name to Zach Bako-Bewele, a combination of his grandparents’ Nigerian last names. “Especially when I start having kids, I want to have a name that I can pass down where it represents where they came from, where I came from.”
I'll call him Kunta Kentae or Kareem Abdul Jabbar or Muhammad Ali or anything else he wants as long as he shuts down the pass rush.

If he changes it to cinco cero I might have an issue though.

        Starters:
        Love
        Jacobs
        Williams - Reed - Golden
        Whyle
        Morgan - Monk - Rhyan - Belton - Kinnard

        Sorrell - Brooks - Stackhouse - LVN
        Zaire - Coop
        Nixon - Bullard - Cisse
        X - Williams
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Edgerrin Cooper teleports through the like for a tfl. Nice burst to the outside on a toss for MarShawn Lloyd. Sack of Jordan Love by Brandon Cisse off a corner blitz.
        Rob Demovsky@RobDemovsky

Rookie Jager Burton is back doing team after an opening day hamstring injury. He’s at left guard with the No. 2 line.
        Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

Jordan Morgan with a great kick out block vs Brandon Cisse, who again is getting 1 reps. Morgan reaches Cisse on perimeter, leading MarShawn Lloyd on toss. Overpowered the rookie corner 1v1, which is expected, but good footwork to square him up in space. Showed his athleticism.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Really nice run by Pierre Strong up the middle. He’s had a really solid start to camp. Now a nice inside run by Damien Martinez. The run game looking much better with the pads on. Nice pressure off the edge by LVN. He’s had the better of Kinnard for sure so far in camp.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Zaire Franklin all over an inside run by Lloyd. False start by Jordan Morgan. Love to Watson on a strike over the middle off play action. Nice pickup for the offense. DDS with an immediate run stuff of MarShawn Lloyd.
        Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

Jonathan Gannon showing a willingness to blitz the perimeter. Brandon Cisse would’ve had a sack chasing down Jordan Love. Later on, Benjamin St-Juste and would Jaylen Simpson converge at Tyrod Taylor. Some creativity in the playbook.
        Matt Schneidman@mattschneidman

Carrington Valentine has a hamstring injury. So does UDFA rookie TE R.J. Maryland. Both aren’t practicing.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Love again to Golden over the middle. He’s been razor sharp so far. And as I type that he missed a throw wide to Skyy Moore. That’s my fault. Morgan great pass pro on LVN Anddd another strike to Watson on a crosser from Love. Beautiful play. Great protection by Belton.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Love throws a back shoulder to Melton but not on the same page. Melton keeps running and doesn’t turn around. McDuffie all over a screen to Skyy Moore. Stops Moore for a very short gain on the next play as well. Solid rush from Oliver vs Brant Banks. Jaylin Simpson nice Pbu vs Sturdivant.
        Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

Jordan Love throws wide of Jayden Reed on a cross, and Xavier McKinney makes a diving interception. McKinney showing off his ball skills on that pick.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

What a fricken ball by Tyrod Taylor and an even better catch by Bo Melton right along the sideline with Simpson in coverage. Beautiful play. Good for about 30 yards.

Great burst to the outside on a run by Lloyd. Pressure by Coop. Not sure if it would have been a sack. Love hits Reed for a huge pickup that might have gone for 60 to the house.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Smack: 33 yard - wide right (we think) 40 yard - good 43 yard - good 48 yard - good 55 yard - not even remotely close. Another 3/5 day so far.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Love to Watson deep. Great ball. Very contested. Put it on Watson but he couldn’t hang on through the ground. Tough play by Watson but it was there. Cisse & Williams in coverage. One Watson was upset he didn’t catch. Moore drop from Love on the next play.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Great burst to the outside on a run by Lloyd. Pressure by Coop. Not sure if it would have been a sack. Love hits Reed for a huge pickup that might have gone for 60 to the house.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Nice run stuff by Karl Brooks. Combined pressure from DDS and McClellan on Taylor. Would have been a sack. Nice pass pro by Burton on DDS. Anthony Campbell in on a run stuff of Martinez behind the line. Side note: I do not believe Domani Jackson has done any team drills through 5 days.
        Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

2 minute drill. 50 seconds left. Ball on own 30. Down by 2. No timeouts. First & 10. 1’s up first:

        1. Love to Watson for a first. Clock ticks. Williams with a pressure.
        2. Love up the seem to Reed. Looked like a great ball but Reed couldn’t get hands on it. Good coverage by Bullard.
        3. Immediate pressure by Brooks. Love over the middle but Reed slips. 22 seconds left. 3rd and 10. Ball on own 44.
        4. Love to Reed for a first down out of bounds. Ball to the 34. Love looked like he might have been sacked but they don’t call it.
        5. Love had Watson deep down the right sideline but Love missed it to the outside. Incomplete.
        6. Incomplete throw to the left just to waste time. Smack on for the 52 yard fg for the win: no good off the left upright.
        Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

On third-and-16, Tyrod Taylor hits Will Sheppard on a go ball down the middle against Mark Perry. Two plays earlier, Perry laid it Sheppard over the middle. This play, Sheppard catches it for 61 yards, setting up a 33-yard field goal from Trey Smack.
        Bill Huber@BillHuberNFL

LB TJ Quinn with a brilliant INT. Smack gets to kick anyway and nails one from 51 to end practice

          Offense

One interesting note in camp is that 2025 draft pick John Williams, who missed his rookie season with a back injury, has been playing all three offensive line spots in camp so far. He’s had to bounce all over with the second-team unit, as the team continues to keep Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele (formerly Tom) out of team drills. Overall, the team has been pretty conservative with returning their players to team periods following an injury.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

With injuries to Luke Lachey and RJ Maryland, Packers will be signing TE McCallan Castlers. Castles spent tome on Packers practice squad in 2025.

“Packers cornerback Carrington Valentine dropped out of August 2’s practice before the team’s 11-on-11 drills and did not return.“

”Cisse — the Packers’ top draft pick at No. 52 overall in the spring — has been the next man up since Valentine’s injury, taking over his snaps with the 1s in 11-on-11 drills.”
The Green Bay Packers have shut down one of their returning starters at cornerback with a new injury amid their second week of training camp.

Jordan Morgan just showed why his athleticism is suited for left tackle. Beat Lukas Van Ness on first three 1v1 reps. 1) Stood up Van Ness on bull 2) Ushered Van Ness outside on speed 3) Mirrored Van Ness on inside out move Good start for Jordan Love’s new blindside blocker.
                Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

Barryn Sorrell had an impressive start to 1v1. Beat Darian Kinnard on bull rush. Later, handed Jordan Morgan his lone loss on outside speed. Really intriguing blend of burst and power.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

                Starters:
                Love
                Jacobs
                Whyle at FB
                Dabney
                Golden - Watson
New OL: Morgan - Burton - Rhyan - Monk - Belton

                Sorrel - Brooks - Stackhouse - Brinson - LVN
                Coop - Franklin
                Cisse - Nixon
                Williams - X
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Beautiful throw from Love to Whyle up the sideline maybe a bit of a wheel. Love wanted to uncork deep but nothing doing. Swung it out to Lloyd but missed him. Jaylin Simpson with a nice run stuff of Lloyd in the backfield. Oladapo all over a swing pass to Swinson.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

McDuffie and Cox all over a run by Strong. Forced inside by the corners and safeties flying to the ball. Second series of offense is back to the normal OL of Morgan - Monk - Rhyan - Belton - Kinnard Love to Jacobs on a bootleg throwback screen for a really nice gain.
                Ryan Wood
                @ByRyanWood

Second straight day Benjamin St-Juste has sacked Tyrod Taylor on a blitz. Jonathan Gannon likes that play call.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Chris McClellan with an immediate sack of Kyron Drones. Watson just easily ran away from Cisse on a crosser. Nice job leading him by Love. Kinnard false start. Back to back completions from Love to Golden. These last two days Golden has been the security / easy completion guy for love.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Williams on a safety blitz forced Love to throw quick and incomplete. Savion Williams nice catch over the middle from Tyrod Mark Perry all over a swing pass to Martinez. Oladapo with a quick stop on a short completion. McDuffie - Mosby - Oladapo all get to the QB on an overload blitz.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Skyy Moore just took a sweep outside for a nice gain with the twos. Some debate if he was lined up at RB or if it was a jet sweep from WR. St-Juste nice PBU on Neyor over the middle. Drones up the seam to Lloyd - had him but missed him. Hopper stuffs a run on 3rd down.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Franklin stuffs a toss play to Jacobs. Old school draw play to Jacobs out of shotgun for a nice pickup. Bullard all over Dabney for a short pickup. Love to Golden along the sidelines on a comeback. Those two are really building a nice connection. Cisse in coverage.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Hopper in for Cooper with the ones. Cooper stayed down on the ground for a tick after the previous play.
                Ryan Wood@ByRyanWood

Jordan Love tries to throw a screen backside to Josh Jacobs, and Barryn Sorrell steps between them. Picks it and goes about 60 yards the other way for 6.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Evan Williams all over an outside run by Jacobs Neyor skies for a big time catch in team.
                Andy Herman@AndyHermanNFL

Lost fumble on a handoff between Drones and Martinez. Looked like Martinez wasn’t expecting it. That does it for practice.

My man. I liked his skill set from tape I saw in college. I can't say I saw him play many games, but he moves well, has decent balance and decent hands. I didn't see flaws is what it came down to. Sort of like Zach Bako Beweles Alcinder. Ok, gonna refer to him as ZBB from now on.

In other news, and chalk this up to trying to find any nugget of insight in camp, LVN and Morgan seem to be having some Kampman/Clifton type camp battles. I like these battles as it sharpens both guys. When game day feels like a day off thats a good thing. Again, I could be reading too much into it, but 2 years ago I thought I saw enough nuggets to know that Evan Whiskey was taking the safety job from Bullard. Sometimes you have to really read between the lines.
