This is the exact type of player before the team attitude that Brett takes and that made him hard to cheer for.Originally posted by Deputy NutzWell the Vikings will have the top seed in the NFC, Packers will lose the NFC Championship to the Vikings
Have fun with the Vikings, Nutz. You deserve each other.Formerly known as JustinHarrell.

There are a group of fans that aren't really Packer fans. They were Favre fans. I said a year ago that was the best part of all of this. Guys like Nutz will no longer be getting in my way at practices so they can stare at their hero. They won't be driving ticket prices up to have one last look at a jerk who plays football.
It's probably not a benefit to the Packers when it comes to making money, but fans that really enjoy the team dynamic that comes with football got the best gift of all when Favre retired - affordable, enjoyable football that is finally about the team.
Getting rid of Favre - Good riddance

I think you get it completely. See Scott, we are not that far off from each other. You were so utterly hurt and saddened by Favregate 08 and Favregate II that you now question your loyalty to your own family. Thats ok. I do to.Originally posted by Scott CampbellOriginally posted by Deputy NutzWell the Vikings will have the top seed in the NFC, Packers will lose the NFC Championship to the Vikings
Do you have any fucking idea how bad that would completely and utterly suck?
It would suck.

Nutz, are you predicting 2-1 in the playoffs? Or rooting for the theoretical Favre-Vikings to make the Super Bowl?Originally posted by Deputy NutzI will be cheering for Favre. I hope the Packers go 14-2, and 2-1 in the playoffs.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Your math is way off. If the Packers go 14-2, the only way they could be 2-1 and lose to the Vikings would be the 3 or 4th seed. The chances of that are almost impossible.Originally posted by Deputy NutzWell the Vikings will have the top seed in the NFC, Packers will lose the NFC Championship to the VikingsOriginally posted by TheCheese2-1 in the Playoffs?Originally posted by Deputy NutzThis is a really good post. Of course, if he is the Vikings quarterback, I won't be cheering for him, but that's okay too. I just wish that back in February of 2008 he had decided he wanted another shot at a Super Bowl...with the Packers.

But at least you are clear that you are not a real Packer fan. . Rooting for Brett Favre over the Packers proves it. But, I respect you for that. You have guts certain others here don't have, even though they would go the same way youdo.
EDIT: It appears I havne't read the rule book lately. 1st paragraph I was wrong.

He is not an idiot. I wasn't all that much hurt by it, it was really strange seeing him play for another team, but I see much more simple than most do. He realized he wanted to play football again, asked the Packers, they said they were set with Rodgers, some bad things were done and said by both sides, he got out of Green Bay and played with the Jets.Originally posted by JustinHarrellWhy do you care so much for that idiot? He is now a free agent with a bum arm hoping to make a team with a shot at the Super Bowl.

I really have no idea what a real Packer fan is, is there a guideline or book on it? I used to really like the Giants because LT was awesome.
I think Brett Favre should stay retired. Sure he is motivated to play, but mind over body failed him once already.
Hey time heals all wounds, eventually I will come back around. At a garage sale today I almost bought an old pair of Packer mesh shorts.

"Well, you fellows can stand around and let them if you want to, but I'm not going to. I'm going to do something about it. From now on I'm going to make every son of a bitch who comes to a Packer game sign a loyalty oath. And I'm not going to let that bastard Deputy Nutz sign one even if he wants to."
"The important thing is to keep them pledging, said Justin Harrell. It doesn't matter whether they mean it or not. That's why they make little kids pledge allegiance even before they know what 'pledge' and 'allegiance' means."
"Of course, it's up to you," CPK pointed out. "Nobody's trying to pressure you. But everyone else is making them sign loyalty oaths, and it's going to look mighty funny to the Packer Nation. if you two are the only ones who don't care enough about your Packers to make them sign loyalty oaths, too. If you want to get a bad reputation, that's nobody's business but your own. All we're trying to do is help.

Put simply for your case, A real Packer fan would not cheer against the Packers in favor of one player. Cheer FAvre all you like during the 14 games not against the Packers. But you should be cheering the Packers in the other two. You don't have to boo Favre at the same time, but you should be cheering for the team.Originally posted by Deputy NutzOriginally posted by cpk1994Your math is way off.
