I don't know. He said it, not me. Maybe?

      • Yeah, and I'm sure he would HATE a chance to go out with another SB.

Don't you think some are stretching a bit lately to find reasons to dislike him?

          • I'm okay with Favre playing for the Vikings if that's what he wants to do, and I don't care why he wants to do it. Of course, if he is the Vikings quarterback, I won't be cheering for him, but that's okay too. I just wish that back in February of 2008 he had decided he wanted another shot at a Super Bowl...with the Packers.

You keep looking at this from a SB perspective. That's not it, which I've tried to explain. He would absolutely HATE to go out without a chance to beat THOMPSON. The SB is secondary to beating Thompson. He has to get even. He can't let that one go.

I don't see that as a stretch. I see that as making perfect sense. It was a significant part of the reason for him coming back last season, and he's admitted as much. The quote is right here in this thread, and it's a Peter King interview so I'm sure you can find it archived at ESPN. Why should I believe that his reasons for coming back again this year - with a division rival no less - are any different than they were last year?

"Part of me coming back last year, I have to admit now, was sticking it to Ted,"

He wanted to play for the Vikings last year becuase of the abovce quote. He wants to play for the Vikings this year. What exactly is being stretched?

I do see one thing becoming evident. You are in denial.

                      Thanks Joe. Game. Set. Match.
Newest excuse: But what Ted is he talking about. Ted could be anybody.

                            Seconded. Except for Bretsky.

I'm not in denial. I posted a day or two ago that he stated part of him came back for the wrong reasons. Why would that be a shock to anyone...someone as competitive as Favre admitted that PART of him came back for the wrong reasons. I'm sure there are more reasons than that.

What I think is funny is that many people here think they know exactly what's going on in his head and know exactly what is driving him to return to football. I'm sorry but nobody knows that but him.

The irrational hatred from some is borderline pathetic.
