  • Stats that matter:

    Negative:
-AR - 54% completions w/ tons of drops, high passes

-9 rush attempts by running backs - NINE. That doesn't do much for you - look at TOP 24 to 36 minutes.

    -No forced turnovers

-Missed FG (to lose by 1)

-Let up 28 1st downs and 500 yards passing

    Positive:
    - 5 TDs
    - 4 receivers with 70+ yards each
    - Rodgers 383 yards passing and 3 TDs, no INTs
    - 5 sacks and only 1 allowed
    - 63% on 3rd down

In this case - the lack of turnovers, lack of committment to the run (and TOP) led to a tired Defense. Case in point the last quarter just getting jacked left/right and holding onto FGs (until the last second). Very hard to win a game like that on the road. Needed to have that Mason FG, needed to have Jenkins wrap up the sack.

Time to put it behind them.

      • Kind of figured the game would go like that. Two good defenses, but they play the same scheme. Those offenses practice against that scheme every day. Oh well! Win next week, get into the playoffs, and smack people around.

Not sure why people said the Steelers don't have anything to play for. Going into today, they were one game back in the Wild Card and almost every team around them lost--except Baltimore. If they beat Baltimore next week, they are even with them.

sorry, but if we don't get things straightened out fast arizona is gonna light us up in two weeks

steelers just exposed a giant weakness. our coverage sucks. we have one great CB, one decent one in t-will. then guys that have no right being in the nfl

if we're only gonna rush three then teams will kill us through the air
Unfortunately Woodson got hurt in 2nd Q of Bears game going into the half. No one here seems to talk about it and I didn't see any discussion with M3. But he was listed on the injury report w/ a bum shoulder.

It's affected his ability to turn the hips, it's hurt him on multiple tackles (including the rushing TD today) and overall created more exposure to our 4th/5th stringers (Bush/Bell). I think PITT knew it - I mean how many times did they target TWill. Seems Woodson had the target on him.

            • need to root for the Redskins tomorrow night, if the Giants lose, I think the Packers are in the POs. No one thought the Packers were going to run the table on the last five games anyway. I'm as pissed as anyone but it is not the end of the world and the offense played especially well in the 4th.

I would think we are still 5. We have a tiebreaker over Dallas and I think everyone else has at least 6 losses. Despite what some are saying, losing this game does not somehow make our playoff hopes slimmer. We still control our destiny.

bush has no ball skills at all that i have seen

i mentioned this earlier in the week and he proved it again today. he never ever plays the ball, looks for the ball, tries to stop the ball from getting to the wr.

he just throws up his hands. and it makes it worse when he's always letting his man get behind him

best case for bush is tackling his guy after his man gets the catch

Yup, almost every game this week broke their way, starting with the Jacksonville loss.
Teamwork is what the Green Bay Packers were all about. They didn't do it for individual glory. They did it because they loved one another.

Losing by one point with no time left is not a wake up call, this one is going to hurt. Good thing we have Seattle next but the way our pass defense looked today Hassellback will prob throw for 600 yards.
A loss is always a wake up call. Exposes areas of development and makes them hungry. The D didn't seem too intense today outside of Matthews and the DLine.

It'd have hurt more if it affected playoff chances (vs. a NFC wild card team or NFC in general). Going into the season - did anyone really think we'd beat the Steelers in PITT?

                          • I'm just not that pissed. Played a good team on the road when they had everything to play for, and we lost on the last play. Oh well! In the end it probably won't matter one bit that we lost this game--provided we beat Seattle next week. If we lose to Seattle, then I will be pissed.

well, it doesn't make life easy for us

we're now ties at 9-5 with dallas, we're both the two wild card teams

giants are at 7-6 and playing a weak washington team tomorrow. they could be 8-6

its gonna be a catfight, when we could have locked things up with one fucking stop today
