The refs can decide what to call and not to call. Chillar's penalty could have been let go to - it was just a hair over five yards downfield. When you get a close game like this though, it's easy to find all sorts of ways it could have turned. It's amazing how many things went exactly right for the Steelers on that final play. The throw was just perfect, the two toes were just down long enough - Bell had his hand in there but just didn't get any wiggle, Jolly was held just enough to prevent him from altering the throw. Amazing. Bet we could commiserate with the Cards about this shit.

My biggest beef is strategery.

We can't control the refs, but we can control how we approach the game.

Our offensive strategy was basically drop back 5 steps and either throw while your backpeddling or set yourself if you can and heave it downfield.

Our defensive strategy was cover their guys up, let Big Ben have time and see if he can beat you.

How did that work out?

Time of Pos.: Green Bay - 24:38/ Pittsburgh - 35:22

Only because GB is more talented on offense was the game even close.

That was not the defensive strategy. The Packers blitzed all day, except at the end of the half and at the end of the game when they were looking to burn clock. Problem was they kept getting out of bounds on crosses.

I do think we need to improve the pass rush, he had time even when the Packers sent 4 or 5. Penalties also gave them first downs and clock stoppages. Can't do both.

i'll tell you one good thing about today's game

every packer fan, including the women, should have a major stiffy after finley's jump ball catch in the endzone. that's an unstoppable redzone weapon that we should be seeing for many years to come

3 penalties by the defense killed them on that drive, nothing else. They had them stopped twice, then penalty. In a strange way, if Jones falls down at the one on his TD catch like Maurice Jones Drew did, we might have won that game.

I was screaming "TAKE A KNEE" as he went in....my best friend turned to me and said "yea, might as well leave the game in Crosby's foot".

Wow, radio caller just made a great point

if jones takes a knee at the 1 instead of scoring the touchdowns. you could take a large chunk of time off the clock, and maybe make the steelers burn a timeout

all we needed was a fg to win.

kneel down 3 times and you take the clock to a minute and kick the fG.

give the ball back with under a minute and no timeouts

I'm just not that pissed. Played a good team on the road when they had everything to play for, and we lost on the last play. Oh well! In the end it probably won't matter one bit that we lost this game--provided we beat Seattle next week. If we lose to Seattle, then I will be pissed.

Funny, I'm not either, I halfway expected a game like this, they just about HAD to pull one out, with their recent record. We'll go on and win the next 2, see what happens then....

can't just blame it on the one kick. that isn't that only chance we had to win the game.

there were about a dozen plays on the last drive where if any of them had gone our way we would have one

ok, after watching the replay of the final play, i just can't fault bell for that coverage
