[QUOTE=George Cumby] ...every draft (Ted) would pick a solid, dependable, smart, athletically limited linebacker...the guy who isn't doing drugs, going to strip bars, knocking around his girlfriend or making any plays of game changing significance.
TERD Buckley over Troy Vincent, Robert Ferguson over Chris Chambers, Kevn King instead of TJ Watt, and now, RICH GANNON, over JIMMY JIMMY JIMMY LEONARD. Thank you FLOWER
Awareness is average. Indentifies and picks up blitzes off the edge from the second and third line of defense. However, inconsistent recognizing defensive line movement and can be a step late reacting to twists. Could do a better job of coming off combo blocks to pick up LB at the second level.
Toughness 4 Not a road grader as an inline blocker that size would indicate. Shows good fight but does not sustain blocks. Needs to develop more of a finisher mentality and aggressiveness with play.
Pass Protection 3 Gets into sets quickly. However, lacks elite foot quickness and lateral movement to hold up protecting the edge at the next level. Susceptible to double moves and will lunge instead of sliding feet when attempting to recover. Uses hands well in combat but lacks a heavy punch to initially stun defenders. Displays an adequate base. Can get put on skates by initial bull-rush but displays ability to sink hips, regain leverage and recover.
Run Blocking 4 Gets into strong initial position. However, does not stay low and fire off ball. Flashes initial pop upon contact but too often feet go dead and does generate hip roll to get proper movement. Does not play with adequate balance and falls off blocks too easily as a result. Shows good torque when running defenders down the line of scrimmage laterally. Effective cutting off defenders from the backside. Limited athlete and severely struggles in space when having to adjust to moving targets or climbing to second level to cut off LB's.
