We're gonna need a good run defense...that starts up front. Dom must like him.
That's the key, Swede. It was Dom's pick, not TT's.
If there is anything we have learned, from three FBs, to Favre to Ryan to trading Moll, its TTs roster. He made that call.
He made it without consulting Dom? Come on.
Consult? Sure. Decide when to pick? No.
      Not when. Who.
I don't think the coaches get that far.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

How much time are teams allowed to pick in the 3rd round?
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

            Dom is no ordinary coach.

Good question. 3rd round begins soon so we'll find out then.

Good. It'll go a bit faster. Past my bedtime. I'm getting a bit testy.

                        • The thing that I don't understand is why we choose to create exceptional depth at some areas, and have mediocre depth at others. The same argument that was made for drafting a DE could be made for drafting a QB, or a SS, or a WR.

Donald Driver is not getting any younger, James Jones' contract is up after next year.

Nick Collins is one bad tackle away from being down for a few games or the season. Same with A-Rod.

I'm not concerned with our DE depth THIS YEAR. I do understand that we are trying to build a perennial contender, but I don't want to be a perennial playoff team, I want to be a multiple championship team. We are missing a few pieces that are keeping us out of the spotlight. Our CB depth is shaky, and for a position that has more than 2 players on the field at a time, it would seem more important to build depth there.

Mike Neal is not a sexy pick, he isn't an Everson Griffen from USC, he isn't a Brandon Ghee from Wake, he isn't anyone most of us haven't heard of. I'm not saying that he's going to be a bad pick, hell he could be a pro-bowler, an all-pro defensive player of the year, but I wanted to see somebody here that would see the field and make a large impact this year.

However, TT is good with his second rounds, so I'll give the big guy a chance. We certainly are looking more nasty with these big guys in the trenches. Long gone are the days of KGB type ends in GB.

                          • Packers selected Purdue DL Mike Neal with the No. 56 pick in the 2010 draft.

Neal is better suited to a one-gap system, but he'll likely settle in as a five-technique tackle in Dom Capers' scheme. A two-year starter with 5.5 sacks in each of the past two seasons, Neal possesses great first-step quickness and versatility. He'll be handy insurance for Johnny Jolly and Justin Harrell at defensive end.
To much of a good thing is an awesome thing

                              • Summary from scout

                                Really good athlete
                                Has very powerful punch
                                Good with movement
Played 3-tech over. STrong at point. Very seldom loses one on one
The way we play here with hands, rather than penetration, he fits well
Very seldom left the game. Not many guys conditioned like that
Hard playing guy, solid pass rusher, very good athlete, runs well for size
DE, definitely DE. Played 3-tech at Purdue. WE play 3-tech half the time

Keeps talking about how much he played, how he never left the game.

Good inside rusher. Things to work on with technique, but athletically he's got it.
                                Formerly known as JustinHarrell.
