i remember this bit our asses last season. don't remember who (jennings or fin i'm thinking) or when. it was a td last year and it was a td today. bad rule. no different the a runner breaking the plain and losing the ball.
its as bad as the tuck rule.

        • That was freaky with Vick. I wonder how much time the Packers spent preparing for him?

Shields, Burnett and Williams will be victimized in the passing game as the Packers will fail to generate pressure on the QB. Offensively, the Packers will struggle to protect Rodgers, allowing 2 sacks. Finley and Grant will be non-factors. Colledge will begin his annual Jekyl/Hyde performance, leading to his replacement in the starting lineup by game #6.

Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

M3 said on the radio with McCarren after the game that they devoted sub packages to Kolb and only the Wildcat with Vick. Thought given that, they did OK. That might be too positive. But I will say this. Capers started with blitzing him and it was killing the Packers as the first wave would miss and then he would escape to an undermanned secondary.

He went to a four person rush and forced him to throw more, which seemed a better option until he flat got hot. Capers then started to blitz on certain down and distance. I like that he adjusted on the fly and kept up pressure. He did however, on 3 and 17 go with a three person rush and Vick escaped easily and had no one near him for the first 10 yards. I think if you send 3 or blitz heavy, you must play zone to keep people's eyes on him. A four man rush you might be able to man up, turn and run with people. But you probably need a spy even then.

He should get player of the week consideration for what he was able to do, considering he spent the preseason running.

I wouldn't use any numbers based on all of that. I'd get 2 outta 8!

                        Apparently not!
It would be called a fumble in the field of play. So he had to have possesion to make it a fumble which would end the play in the end zone and should be a TD.

                        Damn is this confusing!
um, but the ground can't cause a fumble. The ball popped out when he brought it down to the ground.
But apparently the ground can negate a TD.

This whole thing is a joke!

Costas on NBC said the rule was correctly inforced per the NFL head of officals. No, I really don't think it was.
But Rodgers leads the league in frumpy expressions and negative body language on the sideline, which makes him, like Josh Allen, a unique double threat.

                            • Well, the M3 Hire Bobby April crowd (McGinn and a ton of people who had previously never heard of Bobby April) should be quite for a few weeks now.

It's hard to find blame when Vick gets them back in the game by scrambling for 100 yards in a half. Our young guys weren't exploited in the passing game. Our biggest mistakes on defense were 1) knocking Kolb out of the game, and 2) getting too much pressure on Vick (and giving up the scrambles). Gotta find a way to keep him in the pocket.
Shields got abused in the 2nd half and Burnett was solid. But there were only a few Eagle attempts deep into the middle. One of which, Celek's catch, they did complete.

Pass rush was better, but Capers was blitzing quite a bit until Vick started running through it.
