    Dammit...on a field goal.
Okay, why for ANY reason is your most fragile fucking player on the field for a field goal?
Other teams make fun of you if you don't trot out 11 guys on field goal attempts.
Harrel is the only other player we could have used on the field goal team?

Who'd we use after he got hurt? No one?
Well, generally field goal attempts are staffed with pretty much all the big men who aren't starters. Since Harrell was a backup, he qualified. If one of the backup big guys goes out, you need to put one of the non-backup big guys in. It would have been a hell of a lot worse if the Packers had lost Ryan Pickett on a FG than if they lost Justin Harrell.
    Makes sense.

The early report is that he's wearing a boot, it's an ankle sprain, and it's a bad enough ankle sprain that he wouldn't have been able to go back in if they needed him. Beyond that? It's kind of impossible to tell until tomorrow at the earliest.

As I googled 'Ryan Grant' for an update, google shows it as the 2nd most popular search in the past hour - status of 'volcanic'.

Won't know about Grant until tomorrow, but he did say he could not have come back in the game if Jackson had been injured.

Yeah - that's what I feared. Some were saying knee - but the replay showed the ankle being bent pretty severely. Ankle sprains are a bitch. Hope it's well enough that tape can hold up. If anything, sit him in the easy stretch of the schedule and save him for the crazy mid season games.

                Apparently not!
It would be called a fumble in the field of play. So he had to have possesion to make it a fumble which would end the play in the end zone and should be a TD.

                Damn is this confusing!
um, but the ground can't cause a fumble. The ball popped out when he brought it down to the ground.
My real issue with the call/rule is that Calvin could have maintained possession for another 10 minutes if he knew he had to. In his mind he had 6...he rolled over and put the ball on the ground to stand up and that is when it rolled out. If he had chosen he could have rolled a few more times holding the ball no problem.

He figured the play was over and he was getting back up.....ONLY reason he lost it is because he was getting back up to celebrate.

                • Calvin Johnson flat out caught that ball. Two feet down, butt down and then the ball comes out of his hand as he was standing back up. Pathetic fucking rule. Talk about over analysising the shit out of something. Brutal, brutal rule. TD all the way.

                    • Sorry for not posting during the game PR's, I was designated grillmaster at my inlaws Packer cookout.

All I have to say is, no Clay Matthews, no W for the Packers today. He was a flat out beast today. Rodgers had a mediocre game (very lucky Samuel dropped that slant route pass - that was a sure pick 6), but the D and ironically, the special teams carried the day. Only special teams bone up was Mason's kickoff OB.

                      Grades:
                      Defense: B
                      Offense: B-/C+
                      Special Teams: B+

We got a huge break when Vick decided to throw the ball instead of running in a sure TD near the end of the game. The Iggles were gamers, but they were there own worst enemy (poor special teams, bad penalties and that slow developing QB draw on 4th and 1).

A W vs. an NFC opponent is a valuable commodity. Style points aren't a necessity, thankfully. It'll be interesting to see how Grant gets through this injury this week.

Grant will be very lucky if it's not a break. That's the exact same injury mechanism that took out Levens and a number of other backs over the years. (Hawk took someone a couple years ago with the same kind of tackle)

i remember this bit our asses last season. don't remember who (jennings or fin i'm thinking) or when. it was a td last year and it was a td today. bad rule. no different than a runner breaking the plain and losing the ball.
