I think NE was never gonna get a value extension done, saw an opportunity to get better than a 5th compensatory pick and, given Moss' demonstrated past of causing headaches when unhappy, grabbed the opportunity.
I think the polemic that Bill put out there is just good manners.
Whether or not this was a good deal for:
1) Pats - Can they compensate the Moss loss this season and, going forward, what becomes of the #3 they Pick?
2) Vikings - Will the scandal surroung their QB become so encompassing that not even a great Moss can save the season? Will they even get a great Moss?
3) Moss - It's a contract year and he needs the Vikes to do well, so he can do well.
Only time will tell, but strictly from a Packers fan viewpoint, I hope the scandal causes it to be a trade of "bad timing" for The Vikes and Moss.
I admit, it's scary enough to think what might be, but with a not so stellar, under NFL investigion and with definite domestic issues playing QB, I am less worried about even a great Moss.
