It would not surprise me in the least if he didn't pay her because there are too many other Stergers out there who would be looking for their payout.

No actually, well first the NFL cant order Favre to pay her. So if he is suspended then presumed guilt is there and her lawyers get busy. Looking for a settlement of course.
The NFL has culpability here too as the employer in this sexual harrassment case. I obviously don't know what's going to happen, but the NFL could settle this case with Sterger and fine Favre for his actions as well.

To me a fine would seem like a really odd sort of punishment for such an offense.

In addition to a suspension. It could happen, particularly if it costs the league/Jets money.

          • It should be interesting. I read they met for 3 hours. That's time enough to cover a LOT of bad and disgusting stuff.

My gut tells me that Roger is now thinking about how this will all play out in the media. If he's soft on Bert, and she goes public with some very gory details, he's going to look REALLY bad.

            • Goodell will wait for the report from the investigator first. That will likely take several days at least.
All hail the Ruler of the Meadow!

                        • I'm guessing the league holds off until AFTER the Vikings play Chicago and Green Bay...then out comes the hammer.

Too funny. They drag their feet on this for almost a month and now they are demanding quick action.

Sorry you didn't get your money Jenn.

It looks like they may have been doing more than just dragging their feet. They hired former FBI investigators to determine if Bert got her phone number from a Jets employee, and computer forensics specialists to help solidify the text audit trail. Her rep made it sound like they had quite a bit of evidence to present.

i'd think they'd do something pretty quick rather than wait till their season is possibly saved, with wins over chicago and Green Bay, to do it. that punishes minn more than it does bf.
