  • Brandon Stokley backed out of his verbal agreement with the Skins, which means they may be looking for another WR. But Stokley backed out after the Skins signed other receivers, so a crowded position and the fact that James Jones will command more salary than Stokley makes Washington an unlikely landing place for him.
Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

I agree. I find I'm liking free agency compressed into a three or so day window. It's fascinating to watch team makeups change dramatically.
No longer the member of any fan clubs. I'm tired of jinxing players out of the league and into obscurity.

Mostly under the 'addition by subtraction' scenario.

        • I think they should have a lockout every season. I don't like spring football one bit, it's a bunch of empty speculation. Preseason is exciting, seeing the prospects in pads playing scrimmage games. Having a free agency frenzy doubles the fun.

          • Looks like Cullen Jenkins might not be going to Washington after all. Washington signed Stephen Bowen to a 5-year, 27.5 million dollar contract.

I would love the market to dry up for Jenkins so we could sign him back at an affordable rate. That would really solidify the front line.

              • The actual reporters in Twitterverse hae been retweeting someone that the remaining interest in Jenkins would come from the Cowboys and Saints.

I heard the Broncos as well.

                  • Kolb is gone to Arizona for basically the package discussed earlier. Like Schaub, its a big price for a mostly unproven young vet.

After a while, all of the "Kevin Kolb trade is close" reports started to remind us of the reports that said the "labor deal is close."

Jason LaConfara was the close to reliable Twitter source for my earlier tidbit.

                      • I'm surprised Jenkins hasn't been offered a larger contract sooner. But I see that John Elway wants to operate just like Daniel Snyder and Jerry Jones (of the last few years) do - brazenly, with little regard for on-the-field results.

                          • I hope the Packers resign either Jenkins or Jones.

Either Belichick is brilliant, or this he's desperate because he hasn't won a playoff game since 2007 which lead him to trade for both Haynesworth and Ochocinco.
