Or send kickoffs over the back of the end zone every time.
One time Lombardi was disgusted with the team in practice and told them they were going to have to start with the basics. He held up a ball and said: "This is a football." McGee immediately called out, "Stop, coach, you're going too fast," and that gave everyone a laugh.

    • WE ARE BACK. TIME TO TALLY UP THE INJURED AND SEE IF ITS A GOOD THING TO HAVE AS MANY KICKERS IN CAMP AND QBS.

Brad Jones, Morgan Burnett and Casey Hayward all on sidelines with hamstrings. Bush, Nixon also out pic.twitter.com/AO4tBwVx9M

I BLAME BRETSKY FOR JONES INJURY. ALL THAT JAG KARMA BROUGHT OUR MAN LOW. REPENT BRETSKY!!
SERIOUSLY, JONES WAS HAVING A WHALE OF A GAME. AS A TALL ILB, HIS PAD LEVEL ACTUALLY MIGHT BE VERY IMPORTANT

My idea: Pair teams for week of offseason program in June. Joint practices, controlled scrimmage at week's end, to replace a preseason game.

MY NAME IS ALBERT BREER AND I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT THE BUSINESS I AM COVERING IS A BUSINESS. TAKE EVERYTHING I SAY ABOUT THIS SPORT EXCEPT THE FINAL SCORE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. ALSO, I AM AN OHIO STATE FAN WHICH SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU I AM GOOD AT IGNORING HOW BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS GO ABOUT THEIR WORK

      Wes Hodkiewicz ‏@WesHod 3m
Matthew Mulligan and Jordy Nelson are both back at practice with helmet

THEY GAZED IN WIDE WONDER AT THE JOY THEY HAD FOUND

      Tom Silverstein ‏@TomSilverstein 18s
#Packers practice: WRs Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb are back.

I WOULD ACTUALLY PREFER COBB TO STAY OUT, LET THE BICEPS HEAL AND PRACTICE FOR WEEK 1

Back in my day, they would have been handing out salt tablets on a hot day like today. Water breaks were a privilege not a requirement.

SAY IT APPLESAUCE, JUST SAY IT! TODAYS PLAYERS ARE SOFT AND GETTING INJURED BECAUSE OF ALL THIS WATER AND NOT ENOUGH SALT!! DOCTORS, SCIENTISTS, TRAINERS AND THE KOREY STRINGER JURY KNOW NOTHING!

          Wes Hodkiewicz ‏@WesHod 1m
#Packers out: Bush, Nixon, Harris, Richardson, Hayward, Tramon, Burnett, Reed, B Jones, Tretter, Bulaga, Sherrod, Worthy

NOW I AM WORRIED ABOUT HOW THIS NEWS IS AFFECTING THE SHERROD FAMILY. WHICH MAKES ME RESENTFUL AND CONSIDERING HOLDING A GRUDGE AGAINST THEM. I HAVE BEEN PAYING TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO INJURY LISTS, HAVEN'T I?

          Tom Silverstein ‏@TomSilverstein 2m
Nelson and Cobb are taking their usual turns with the offense. This practice is being conducted in shells.

CAN WE CONDUCT THIS PRACTICE IN BUBBLE WRAP?

Expecting three-man field goal competition to commence late in today's practice. They could charge admission for that.

            • i have a theory that all the injuries are due to the lack of contact and lack of reps at practice

maybe the muscles, ligaments and tendons just aren't being built up the way they use to when you had 2 a days and were actually able to simulate real game situations with hitting and going full speed

i don't know, i wouldn't say players are soft, but maybe their bodies aren't being built and trained the right way anymore

Short practice today. The focus appears to be on the second and third teams. May be corrections from Friday night.

IF SO, SHOULD BE A LONG PRACTICE

#Packers have 85 players on their roster. 10 more must go by Tuesday afternoon.

WRs Charles Johnson and Kevin Dorsey are getting a lot of snaps.

Problem is, like Thompson discussed a week or so ago, that we have very little public information about how many injuries happened in the old days. He says the numbers now are not appreciably different than 2005. Its hard to judge the efficacy of a training program without any data on results.

That's right. He just throws passes to the equipment manager in the Don Hutson center.
