If it's only a partial tear, perhaps wearing a brace is a possibility. Of course, there's then the question of whether the brace is too restrictive to allow the knee to function properly.Originally posted by Guiness View Post
And what is with the comments about him maybe playing with a torn ACL? I'm I missing something? How is that even possible? And we all saw how the Redskins were crucified for putting RG3 back in there with a damaged ACL, causing the injury to become 10x worse.I can't run no more

Players have done it. Was it Dixon who was the QB for the Oregon Duck? He played a bowl game without an ACL.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostIf it's only a partial tear, perhaps wearing a brace is a possibility. Logan Mankins did it as well, though not sure he went the whole season. Also Guard is different than Left Tackle.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Which knee is it? Can you do a kick-slide with a knee brace on?Originally posted by pbmax View PostPlayers have done it. Was it Dixon who was the QB for the Oregon Duck? He played a bowl game without an ACL.

If it's a partial tear, the recovery time is shorter...at least that's what I've heard. If that's the case they could put him on the IR-but-might-come-back list the NFL came up with last year. Either way, I'm not counting on Bulaga playing this year, and I can't imagine them starting him.
DuJuan Blair plays in the NBA and reportedly does not have ACLs in either knee. I suppose anything is possible, and it's OL, not WR, where guys play really beat up all the time...but still.
Giving Bahktiari first crack at LT makes sense. Barclay at RG/RT, Van Roten at LG/C are your backups. Datko has sounded shaky so far, but maybe getting more reps at LT (IMO he belongs at T, not G) will help. I think they'll carry 8 OL this year. Does it come down to Datko or Sherrod as the backup LT...or Newhouse becomes the backup LT and Barclay slides in at RT?
The preseason contests will be very important for the OL.
As for VY, adding competition to the QBs is good, but I'm not really expecting him to make the roster. Sounds like another year on the PS for Coleman.

If only Ted had drafted Mankins he could show Bryan how to do it: http://www.packersnews.com/article/2...0101/130806030Originally posted by pbmax View PostPlayers have done it. Was it Dixon who was the QB for the Oregon Duck? He played a bowl game without an ACL.

New England Patriots guard Logan Mankins tore his right ACL in a season-opener against the Miami Dolphins in 2011. He played in all 16 games during the regular season and throughout the Patriots’ run to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the New York Giants. Along the way, he also tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

#Packers WR Randall Cobb was out of practice today for an injury to his biceps tendon. I'm told it's "not serious." So, that's good.Bud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Until we find out tomorrow it's a torn bicep and he's done for the year. Way things have been going, I wouldn't be surprised.Originally posted by pbmax View PostIan Rapoport @RapSheet 31m

Wednesday Practice, 8-7-13
Neal is back. Abdomen must be OK.
Lacy is out, no pads. Joke on Twitter that he must have gained 44 pounds overnight. Better joke is that he made himself sick losing 44 pounds overnight last week.
Datone Jones is over his illness and is back.
Cobb is back
Wes Hodkiewicz @WesHod 1h
#Packers out: Dorsey, Johnson, Harris, Lacy, Richardson, Hayward, Tramon, Tretter, Bulaga, Sherrod, Quarless, Taylor, Nelson, Worthy
ITS SHRINKING!
Tyler Dunne @TyDunne 1h
On the bright side for Green Bay at RB, Alex Green (knee) has returned after sitting out one practice. Harris/Lacy both out.
YESTERDAY, M3 SAID GREEN'S KNEE WAS JUST BOTHERING HIM, SOMETHING HE MIGHT CONTINUE TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH AFTER KNEE INJURY
Pete Dougherty @PeteDougherty 1h
Green back also, n Jolly practicing after dropping out late yesterday with leg cramps
JOLLY BACK BUT BOB HAD SOME POOR REVIEWS FOR HIS LATEST PERFORMANCES: http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packe...218629671.html
Tyler Dunne @TyDunne 1h
Work against the read option continues. Has been an emphasis all training camp. Coaches drilling assignments into players' heads.
WELL AT LEAST CAPERS ISN'T DEFIANT. INCOMPETENT MIGHT STILL BE ON THE BOARD, BUT YOU CAN'T FAULT THE FOCUSBud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Vince Young starting to get reps in offense only drills.
PROGRESS. HE PRACTICES!
Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein 1h
Cobb is practicing without a brace or anything I can see. He is wearing long sleeves so I'm not sure if there is anything under that.
Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein 1h
He's swinging and flexing his arm like its still bothering him a little.
SPOON IS LIKE THE SMALL RAIN CLOUD THAT FOLLOWS YOU AROUND SOME DAYS
Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein 1h
So I've got a total of 14 guys out, six of whom are on PUP.
I HESITATE TO CALL THIS AN IMPROVEMENT
Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein 1h
Interesting: Mike Neal is working with the OLBs, not the D-line.
THAT IS A BIG OLBBud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.

Can anyone decipher this from Bob?

GOOD TEST TODAY, ONLY 3 HEALTHY HBs

Johnathan Franklin using his blockers well on a screen that goes a long way. He's shaping up to be a third-down back specialist.

Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein 51m
Ross with No. 1 kickoff return. No Cobb.

There's the downside with Masthay, erratic. Muffs kickoff for 2.1 second hang and ball falls to 15
HOF ON HOLD
Mike Vandermause @MikeVandermause 49m
Tavecchio puts 2nd kick about 5 yards deep. Crosby wins Round 2.
I WOULD PAY GOOD MONEY FOR A STRAIGHT ANSWER AT KICKER
ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk 46m
Second opinion is back on Packers LT Bryan Bulaga: He'll have surgery to repair a torn ACL once the swelling goes down, per league source.
IF YOU ARE PATRICK MCKENZIE, DO YOU CELEBRATE, JUST A LITTLE, JUST TO YOURSELF WHEN 2ND OPINION AGREES WITH YOU?
Mike Vandermause @MikeVandermause 44m
Haven't ever heard Starks called Jim before, but that's how Rodgers just addressed him during fundamental drill.
TOMORROW ON FIRST TAKE, RODGERS BULLIES RBs
Tom Silverstein @TomSilverstein 38m
Run drill: Matthews just double-armed Bakhtiari and drove him back.
I AM OK WITH THISBud Adams told me the franchise he admired the most was the Kansas City Chiefs. Then he asked for more hookers and blow.
