Based on what I read about the first pre-season game, it sounds like Mecole Hardman and Isiaah Simmons might soon be appearing on this thread.

Both were really bad. Both also have history of success in the NFL though. Hardman is in a tough numbers crunch situation and I expect him to be cut barring trade/injury. Simmons I think makes the team even if just for ST, but his mistakes were a lot positioning so its possible he is getting comfortable with the scheme. Its also possible he just isn't instinctive enough to play LB in the NFL and thats why he has bounced around.

What a difference a game makes hahahaha - especially a really bad game. I WAS really pleased to have and maybe see a lot of both Hardman and Simmons. Maybe that was misplaced enthusiasm, maybe not. I'd give them another game or two and the practices leading up to them before giving up on them.

Kinda sucks seeing guys get SO CLOSE to the show, only to burn out on injury or just not quite cut it. Like Crash Davis in Bull Durham.

Especially when coming close doesn't pay jack and a lot of these dudes fuck like bunnies and have half a dozen kids. And what are their alternatives for income? Some of them can't even read.

I remember a few years ago the Packers signed someone who was working in a grocery store. On the flip side, Samson Gado got an MD after bouncing around the league. There's a wide range of abilities in players, beyond their football skills. I also suspect players who can't read are extremely rare these days.
