That link shows how much the game has changed since then, and it's pretty crazy to look at it. Check out some of the offensive lines for the team leaders from the box scores. You don't realize how much the pendulum has swung towards the offense until you look at something like this.

    Terry Bradshaw 11/24, 97 yds, 1 TD
    Ken Anderson 7/17, 77 yds, 0 TD
    Bob Avellini 2/12, 25 yds, 0 TD

Walter Payton 17 rush, 50 yds, 0 TD
Tony Dorsett 15 rush, 49 yds, 0 TD
John Riggins 11 rush, 43 yds, 0 TD
Terdell Middleton 12 rush, 30 yds, 0 TD

The Bronco ones were particularly interesting...because they won this game!!!
    Craig Morton 6/11, 54 yds, 1 TD
Jack Dolbin 2 rec, 21 yds, 0 TD
Jon Keyworth 8 rush, 23 yds, 0 TD

Number of 300 yard passing games: 0
sub 200 yard passing games: 219(!!!)
Number of 100 yard rushers: 4

Good grief I hated that team.
Remember the Iron City Beer (?) cans that had the team picture on the can for each SB winning team? A must have in any kids beer can collection in the 70's.

        +1

Couldn't stand them. Especially Franco Harris.

Sorry pbmax, yep, I have one of these in my collection

PB, to take your mind off of the 70's Steelers, I present you with the '82 Packers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1JPUsXKUvI Good offense, challenged defense. Sounds familiar. They had a fun offense to watch. The defense had some talent, but was frustrating.

Nice. You gotta love Rocky Bleier (from Appleton) in the middle of the bottom row.

Indeed he did. You can read all about it in his thrilling autobiography, "Fighting Back".

I always liked him. Tough son of a bitch.

I get all the Steelers hate here because I can't stand them clowns over the last 30 years but those 70's Steelers teams were something to watch. I say that despite the fact they beat my team in the Super Bowl. The steel curtain was something to see. LC Greenwood reminded me a little bit of Carl Eller.

Franco did not catch that ball. It hit the turf.

I admit. My irrational hate of Franco was in part fueled by his uncanny resemblance to Gabe Kaplen.

I just watched an NFL Films video of the 1989 Packers. I forgot what a boss Tim Harris was. 19.5 sacks; wow. Here are two things from that season http://www.pro-football-reference.co...s/gnb/1989.htm How did they get scheduled to play Dallas twice that year, a non-division opponent? Weird. Also, they showed highlights of the Saints game early in the season which was a home game, and the Packers were wearing their road whites. I had never seen that before. Have you?
