I think Guion suits the team. He seems to get better penetration than Raji, but that can work against us on a run play (see Blount's 12 yard run)

AJ Hawk has had a good career with the Green Bay Packers and has made a $$boatload of money$$. One day he will 'no doubt' be inducted into the Green Bay Packer HOF.Originally posted by Cheesehead Craig View PostHawk is only a 3.5M or so cap savings if he's cut. Next year is the last year of his contract.
Isn't it time for his career to quietly end?
AJ Hawk has 910 Career Tackles in the Regular Season. He Ranks No. 1 in franchise history (since 1975) with 1,025 tackles, having surpassed John Anderson (1,020 from 1978-89) for the team mark in the 2013 regular-season finale.
John Anderson, a Packer linebacker from 1978 -'89, holds the franchise record for career tackles with ** 1,020. John Anderson was tied with Ray Nitschke for the team career mark in interceptions by a linebacker (25).
He was named to the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team as selected by voters of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
He was inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in 1996.** Since 2006 3 X Pro Pickem' Champion; 4 X Runner-Up and 3 X 3rd place.

Oops. I'd probably put him at the top of the medium priority list.Originally posted by Joemailman View PostI largely agree. However, you left out Bulaga who I would make a high priority."There's a lot of interest in the draft. It's great. The numbers don't always tell the whole story. House is a dime back at best. Lacks ball skills. Too inconsistent.Originally posted by Patler View PostI think you have to find a way to keep House.
The NE game is a perfect example of why it's OK to let House walk. There were 3 instances in which House could've picked off the ball, but do to his poor ball skill, he did not. The TD pass, sure it was Golden Arm Brady making an awesome throw, but House's technique was so out of wreck, it was as if Miley Cyrus was playing.
If Williams doesn't ask for tons of money, bring him back and mix him and Hayward inside and outside.
Btw, DuJuan Harris will only be a "restricted" free agent, right? If that's the case, should be easy/cheap to retain. Trade Starks.

Pretty much agree here except for trading Starks. He didn't draw much interest on the free agency market last year, so I doubt he has trade value. I would like to see more of Harris though. He's a good receiver, and Arod finally seems more willing to check down to his RB when things aren't open downfield.Originally posted by Tyrion Lannister View PostThe numbers don't always tell the whole story. I have no interest in resigning TWill. He's still capable, but this is his last payday. He's in a Greg Jennings situation, and I don't see him giving any hometown discount. He's not going to be worth $8M+ per year for very long at his age.
Cobb is a must sign, regardless of price. His skill set is difficult to come by and he can create matchup nightmares for opposing defenses in a way that a more traditional WR like Jordy never could. If you aren't going to have a dynamic receiving RB to rely on, Cobb is a must keep.
Bulaga will be an interesting guy to follow. Given his injury history, I don't think you want to pay a lot for him. Will someone else take on that risk? If so, then I think you have to let him go.
We keep Flynn over Tolzien. Tolzien is going to want a chance to go somewhere where he has some kind of chance to compete for playing time. He's not going to stay behind Rodgers. Flynn had his chance. He's Doug Pederson now. It's such a GOOD feeling...13 TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

My thought on Cobb is that he will not get the numbers he does in another system (short of Denver w/Manning and possibly NE) as being with Rodgers and GB enables him to do so. I think that front row seat to seeing Jennings leave and the shit situation he is in is going to be on his mind come signing time. Some players only care about the $ and usually they end up well paid, but miserable in the situation they end up in. Those are the guys you hear about that "just want to go to a winner" to end their career. I really hope and believe that Cobb will want to stay in GB, but will realize that he may not get paid by them as much as he possibly could elsewhere. He sees what Rodgers is doing and if he's smart, he'll stay here, win, get gaudy numbers, and be rather well paid.Originally posted by woodbuck27 View PostRandall Cobb is the NO. 1 Ranked WR in the NFL.

I believe we will be about 34 million under the cap. Add to that the 6 million (guessing) we'd save from cutting Hawk and Jones and we're around 40 million. Barrington and Clay will start there next year.
Priorities:
Cobb: 13 million (everyone wins. He'll learn his lesson about leaving Rodgers from Jennings).
Bulaga 5 million. Plenty of mileage left.
Raji 5 million (one year just like last time).
House 6 million-2 year "prove it" deal (It's either him or Tramon and Ted usually pays the younger guy).
Probably also Guion if the money is right.
Count on the draft and FA to take care of bolstering the LBer corp.
